Messaging Apps

i used to use messaging apps like WhatsApp, but looks like there's quite a few more out there - what's been your go to app for messaging clients or providers?

I'm lazy...  I just stick to standard text (SMS/iMessage) messages.

I tend to try to work out the majority of details on the rentmen messenger at first and then do texting. I don't have to be discreet. I'm the only one who sees my phone. And I hope law enforcement has better things to do in this crazy world then to worry about  a consensual meetup between myself and another guy.

Does anyone know of an app that requires a password to open on top of end-to-end encryption?  I mean, if someone else has access to the phone,  is there an app that would require a password before someone could read the messages?
