I guess you should ask HooBoy that question. He's the one who revived the subject by creating a new thread and I'd kind of like to know why he suddenly retracted it.

 

Anyway, if you think it's not worth talking about, why are YOU talking about it? That doesn't make a lot of sense.

I am aware that I have disagreements from time to time with some on different subjects, some of those individuals have my deepest respect and admiration, if not agreement.

 

As for the world being full of assholes and thus not everything is attributable to just one, I'll grant that possibility. Now where were we...

 

Oh yes, nothing in your tone or manner as evidenced by you latest comment has dissuaded me from my initial impression, Bilbo's observation notwithstanding. So, if you are not another, it would seem that you share certain personality traits. From where I sit it is a distinction without much of a difference.

I think you keep saying that posters who don't agree with you are really the same guy as a way of getting at them without anwering the points they make. That's what you're doing here. You didn't answer my point. If you think Sean isn't worth talking about then why are you coming back to a thread about him? Is somebody standing next to your computer holding a gun to your head and making you do it?

By the way, weren't you one of the people who was always defending Sean until everybody found out what he was doing? Maybe that explains why you want to diss people who bring up the subject. Individuals involved only in dinner conversation, can sleep easy knowing they did not pay $4.00 per minute to listen to witty, inteligent psycho-babble about houses, limousines, and $5,000 per month apartments ... and the fact that any recording at table probably contains nothing detrimental. Others, with no involvement at all, are probably weary of this subject, and can view the matter as whipping a dead horse. Unfortunately, the horse, now running with many names, is very alive and well. And, to those who are, have been, or might become involved, this is a vital issue indeed.

 

As opposed to any guy one might meet, the man we refer to as Sean Worldescrt subjects his clients to two additional risks: 1) he maintains an excess quantity of client data - and in a format that could prove to be particularly harmful, and 2) he is under special scrutiny by those who think we have given them some special authority. No matter what rummaged-up mask he wears,

the fact remains that every single day this man continues to peddle his wares prolongs the statute of limitations. This places anyone involved at additional and unnecessary risk that those same scrutinisers may batter down their door and rattle their teacups.

 

Those who are involved should not have to live this way. Those who are considering involvement should be made aware. And, adding insult to injury, Sean's attitude toward his victims is, to paraphrase his own words, "I don't give a shit about any of you, so just FUCK OFF".

 

Until Sean honestly ceases operation, and thus begins to lessen the danger, there can never be silence on this matter.

 

Other escorts need to learn from this to take the opposite, and rational approach: keep as little data as possible, keep what must be kept as generically and anonymously as possible, and store it as safely as possible.

Sean was, IMHO, a blowhard. I very much doubt if he ever taped as much as one incident. True, as you point out, I am at a safe distance and can afford to come to this decision. But I really do feel that while I want to be kept appraised of his current nom de plume, it isn't necessary to try to chase him out of business. Nor do I feel it healthy to worry as much about the, IMHO, nonexistant cache of information. But thank you for keeping a weather eye on this watch for us.

I myself have wondered what is the group fascination with this charm-free soul. In that regard it occurs to me that he just might be the incarnation of everything I have always feared, deep-down and even semi-consciously, in an attractive man. I have always been just a little afraid that an irresistible man might turn out to be someone who uses his sex-appeal to hurt people like me, namely, gay men who can't charge for their favors. For me, Sean is the face of the contemptuous escort who haunts me, who whispers in my ear, "I don't give a SHIT about you."

 

Although I know, rationally, that the voice is not that of a human being but of something called internalized homophobia, I can't quite ignore it. I also can't shake the sense that many, many men who visit this site are plagued by the same incubus. That is why I really do think that this Sean person is poison and that HooBoy should never, ever, have re-introduced him here with that quickly-erased post about having had dinner with him in Los Angeles. Unlike Bilbo, I am not so sanguine about Sean's malicious bloody-mindedness. Put it this way: If he really were as bad as he sounds, what more could he do or say to prove it? How much more evidence do you need?

I reckon he just forgot to change his AOL screen name from Worldescrt. As a matter of fact, he must have forgotten to sign off, cause this screen name is signed on as I post this message. The Worldescrt profile lists occupation as "Male Escort" and he's listed on several internet escort sites referencing this id as his email address. Yet, his reviews were removed because he's "no longer escorting."

 

AIRC, Sean was the one who posted that he was taping his clients and holding onto them for several months (long after they would have been useful for protection from law enforcement, and even threatening one disgruntled client with his taped session). Whether or not he was just being a blowhard (and not in the good way :-)), I think ONLY he can answer; anyone else is only offering an opinion. Asking for an explanation is not attacking him or going for blood, and I think a lot of former clients (and potential clients) will not feel at ease until there is one....

Yeah, I noticed that too. I don't understand how he gets to have his reviews taken down when he's still advertising as an escort under the same name in several places. I've seen emails from HooBoy in which he refused other escorts' requests to take down reviews for the exact same reason.

I for one would not trust any explanation that he offered. And I do think that new readers should be warned. But until someone comes forward whose tapes Sean is attempting to use, it's like a rattlesnake on the back 40. Avoid it. Take care that it isn't moving. And don't lose any sleep over it. "Living well is the best revenge," and letting a blowhard's mouthings make you live small is possibly the worst.
