Hi all! I'll be visiting there this week. Anyone know any hot (safe) guys and/or hot (&safe) spots there? I speak Spanish, although I have some trouble understanding the coastal Colombian accent!

Or is Grindr useful (&safe) to use there?

There were a couple of threads that mentioned Barranquilla on here ... but they are so old that they've been locked/discontinued.

Some forum members responded to my request in another forum by warning me that grindr use can be very dangerous in cities like Barranquilla. is mileroticos safer, in your opinion? I might just keep to myself, if there is so much danger.

Hmmm….I’m not sure about Grindr use down there.  The mileroticos site is similar to RentMen I think.

I always wanted to visit Barranquilla not for sexual stuff but just to see. After all, it's the city of Shakira. They also have a very poorly made Shakira statue there. But barranquilla never really pops up when talking about tourism in colombian its usually medellin, bogota or cartegena.

Anywhere in Latin America is more risky to lose money by being robbed or scammed by providers but unlikely that you would get hurt or killed.

The advice of being careful with hook up apps is wise. I've used Mileroticos in Colombia with mixed success, target the featured or top of the page ads.

More likely a provider who is more serious about escorting paid more for being in that position. Consider it as a Gold or Platinum ad on RM.

If you still feel tempted to visit Grindr and similar apps, focus only on guys who are able to speak intermediate or advanced English.

That ensures that more likely they are highly educated (not scammers) and have had previous experiences with international clients.

Before meeting, put all valuables in the safe (passport, CCs, money, etc) and regardless of websites or apps, NEVER EVER give them your room number.

Don't drink anything at all while you are with them, it's very easy to put you to sleep with a couple drops in your glass.

Meet them at the lobby or public place to test their English and to verify they are the guys in the ad and if everything Ok, only then go to your room.

If he turns out sketchy or catfish make an excuse (say you'll be back if needed) smile and leave. Later you can send a "sorry" message.
