But Malaysia first encountered CoVid upon the departure in February of last year of thousands of Muslim pilgrims from around the world to a religious festival. They appear to be overly cautious in readmitting foreign travelers. The Strait Times reports that they should be open by January 1 in time for Chinese New Year on February 1st. We’ve been able to reschedule our departure to January 13th. But we have a 19 hour overnight layover at Narita in Japan and Japan is not open.
