Circuit Parties...Yay or Nay?

I started hearing about the term last year but decided to actually look it up this afternoon to figure out what it is (or at least portrayed it is). Anybody here been in or frequent such parties? My idea of a fun time typically involves some nice spread with a nice cocktail or 3, but curious to hear people's perspectives on these parties. And based on my "thorough" research on YouTube, a majority of the guys that I see enjoying these parties are hot...so are these parties intended to only draw in a certain type of crowd (i.e., not for the insecure, chubby types)? Anybody have any steamy or just plain ridiculous stories you wanna recount here?

Yeah, if you're insecure about your body and you go there think of the movie mean girls.

A friend about age 45, incredibly fit and handsome (a working pro dancer) said some friends took him to one and he felt like he might as well have been using a walker and flip phone.

Think: 20s or look like it; 4-8 pack abs; short cropped hair; wearing almost nothing and dancing and doing other things on the floor 😉. That is the atmosphere. 
 

if you want a good dance party or event go to an EDM set or techno set. It’s inclusive and welcoming. It’s about the music. 
 

circuit is sex + music. If you don’t fit the type the bois will make you cry. Very mean.

circuit is sex + music + a shit ton of drugs.  Ok that was my circuit party days experience anyways. 😉 Maybe things have changed but I doubt it. Circuit boys love their umm..energy helpers. 😉

FWIW I went to 2 parties about 15 years ago. One was in Palm Springs and the other was in Ibiza. At the time, I was fit and in my 50s but I had a goodlooking younger boyfriend who had a superb physique. He wanted me to go dancing with him, so I agreed. 
 

The party in Palm Springs was more of a pool party with group sex happening in hotel rooms. The party in Ibiza was more of a long event with sex happening in public (we saw guys fucking in the bathrooms, and there was coupling near the dance floor). I was generally ignored and there was some comment (along the lines of I must have a big cock and a big wallet to have landed my boyfriend). It didn’t bother me and I had a good time. At both parties, I wore a linen shirt and smart shorts. In Ibiza, I gave my boyfriend the tiniest swimbrief I’d bought for him earlier. It looked as if it’d been spray-painted on him. Especially when he was asked to dance on a dais, he attracted a lot of attention. I didn’t mind in the least as we left soon afterwards, and had tremendous sex when we got home.

At the White Party there were always long lines in the bathrooms with guys wanting to use the stalls. Did they all need to poop? 😄

Some combination of maturity and common sense tells us when we've outgrown things. Are any members here planning to go Trick-or-Treating? Oh yeah, that's for kids.

I guess I should be grateful that like you Joe Mendoza, if given the choice I'd rather have a cocktail and a nice meal.

I've been to Southern Decadence in New Orleans a couple times.  The first time I felt kind of "square" but went again a few years later and enjoyed it since I knew what to expect.  The bars did have lots of great strippers!

They’re parties thrown by 30 year olds, who are desperately trying to be 20 year olds. 

It isn’t pretty.

Especially when you mix in the 40 and 50 year olds, who should have left decades ago.

My only experience was in Vienna, would Have stayed in a much less  "progressive" hotel, wish I had been warned. Ha ha

I heard that the event has become more corporate. I assumed that liquor companies promote themselves there, like they do at similar straight parties/bars.

For me, the only thing lower than a circuit party on my wish list is a gay cruise.

Yet, I get it. 

The allure, the freedom and excitement of circuit parties is a big draw to some.

But, yeah, I don't see myself bopping around with a glow stick.

For those of you going to London the party to go to the the We party, which aptly is in Brixton.  A provider told me about this party. 

Personally I would need to be high on meth to attend or appreciate it. It goes on for 3 days!
