Favorite Client?

To be honest, yes. I have 3 favorite clients and a big portion of the reasoning is because they are wonderfully generous ...but that’s not all. They also are wonderful in other ways.  If they were not good guys then they wouldn’t be my favorites even when I consider what they pay me. So in short, it’s a combination.

Definitely both.  Personality is important, AND a client who genuinely wants to please me will generally understand that I am here, at least in significant part, for the money, and demonstrate generosity accordingly.  Not everyone can afford to tip hundreds, but all my favorite clients definitely tip something and some of them buy me gifts as well.  Personally, my parents were extremely stingy with me to the point of neglect, so my buttons get deeply pressed in a very good way by generosity.  But of course personality also matters.  Most guys who choose to voluntarily give me cash or gifts have great personalities tho.  Generosity is a very sexy quality.

A tip is something very nice and it shows the client really enjoyed our time together, at least it is what I think. It does not mean that the clients who do not tip do not enjoy the time together. However, the favorites clients are going to be the ones who are very sweet, kind, understanding, and the ones who care about the provider also having a great time.

You have to free yourself from the expectation, or even hope, of a tip, otherwise you will feel slighted and second guess yourself and your sessions.

With the caveat that I live in a society where tipping is not the norm, I have the view that an escort sets their rate and that's what I expect to pay. I see a tip as something that I pay if I think they are charging below the going rate for the market, or if they astound me with the experience.

I expect Rod could do the latter!!!

I agree. Also, I don't think tipping escorts is the norm in the US, either. In the US, servers are tipped because their salary is usually minimum wage, and they're expected to earn most of their living from tips. In some states, employers can pay their servers even less than minimum wage, with the thought that it's impossible for the server not to make the minimum wage if the service is even barely acceptable. Escorts set their own wages--which is far above minimum wage (and that's assuming they pay taxes on those wages). Of course, in Los Angeles, the minimum wage is $15/hour. Probably not quite livable, but decent.

A tip should be a thanks for absolutely fantastic service not to make up for lack of fair basic pay. It some industries and places it seems to have developed into compensation for poor pay and hasn’t much to do with whether the service went beyond all expectations.

Also I think there’s a misconception that escorts make loads of money because their hourly rate is high. Take into consideration that it’s not practically possible to work 45 hours a week 50 weeks a year doing escort work and the hourly rate comes down. Yes some days you make a lot, but some days it’s zero. If you get sick or catch something you’re out of action for at least a week. You have to keep a place to work, keep fit, advertise etc so there’s overheads too. Don’t assume that because you paid £200 for an hour that that’s what he gets every hour every day.

If you divide $200/8=$25 an hour. That's an okay job, like $48K a year, but that's like lower middle class at best. So yeah I definitely appreciate that a lot of professional guys are basically doing okay even if they are fairly busy.

Add to this to that, most of us live in such ludicrously expensive  cities.  Oh well.  Life isn't fun if it isn't a challenge.

For this client, Rate posted is a starting point. I figure paying that rate gets me respect, kindness and physical access  - consensual, and within boundaries set ahead of meeting. It’s like the basic car wash..

Now…
Making me feel that he’s enjoying our activities, that gets him a bump. Reading our exchange accurately and instinctively, guiding the play to something new for one of us?Premium Wash with additional rinse! Another bump. Exceptional hosting ability (cleanliness of self and environment, punctuality, having a private and conducive space with appropriate ambience, bottled water available, etc) Yup, another bump. Hot wax!

I reward efforts of preparation, connection, and imagination. Hand polish and buff. Bump.

And if he knows how detail my rims, well…

Thankyou! Nailed it.

Like @Benjamin_Nicholassaid, it is good to strive to get to a place where your rate is sufficient enough to not “hang around” for tips. HOWEVER, I have clients who tip all the time. I don’t put down those who don’t, but I also don’t expect it. I just let it happen. My thing is: I once worked in a trust bank and would file accounts. When I seen the amount of money these people had in their account, it’s not going to hurt them to pass over an extra $50-$100. Heck, an extra $5,000 wouldn’t hurt some, but…gay (especially non-White) male escorts have been getting paid far less as escorts than White female escorts for a long time. Once I’m making White woman money, then I can say no to a tip lol.

But I don’t even consider it a “tip”. I consider it a contribution to an independent person who’s in biz. And I’m immensely grateful. It may not be $5,000…but hell, this past week I’ve had 2 guys giving 300-400 per session, and adding extra. I used to go week by week taking 100 and 150 sessions, and just profiting nothing. Nowadays, or at least at this point of my experience: I’m glad that most of my visits are atleast 250.

But like @Rod Hagensaid also, I feel there’s constantly a drain on my funds. As a traveling escort, I’m not just spending money every day, I’m spending it multiple times a day/week. It’s like, there’s always a bill due, an ad or 2 due, gas (and at these prices, it’s been like $30-40 every day or 2 that I’m spending on gas because I’m going to different areas), hotels, etc. It’s easy to end up in the red. And generally, even after having a good week or couple weeks, the longest I can take a break and be okay is about a week. I’ve only been okay taking 2 weeks off when the stimulus checks were being handed out. But the thing is, when I’m not traveling, I usually do go a week without having a client, because my home market is so shitty.

That said: I could have a $1,000 stack sitting right next to me, and it may seem like I’m ahead…but in reality I have to watch like a Hawk because it can go faster than I think. I tip at restaurants, but some of my friends may occasionally tip $50-$100, one guy even tipped $200 to a waitress. And that’s their choice, I stick with tipping off the percentages. I’ve bussed tables before, so I understand the business, but I also got out of it once I seen the smoke and mirrors. I was making tips off the waitresses. And it really wasn’t much at all because they got the bigger cut. But why should I even take their cut? I would have preferred a set amount when I walked thru the door.

So lately, I just try to keep it all in perspective. I rarely do dates with guys anymore (even though I’m starting to want to get back into dating again, but so many are just in it for the thrill, nothing serious). When I do go to restaurants, my friends have to understand how my money goes…meaning just because I have it, doesn’t mean I’m covering everybody’s check.

I also had a previously met client the other day offer to get me a hotel room, but he’d want to subtract a portion from my donation. I’m like dude, we can do it, but I’m not agreeing to a flat rate less amount. I’d take some off, depending on what he’s wanting. Which would of been $50 off. He wanted a whole $100 discount. Ironically enough: he never went thru with it, but yet I had 2 clients, 2 nights in a row who did the same thing, and did not discount my donation. Swallow that.

I don’t *expect* tips and I do have a rate that’s high enough for me to not need them now.  But I’m in the business of exceeding expectations, blowing people’s minds, and sometimes even changing their lives.  And with over a decade of experience under my belt, the professionalism I offer throughout booking/hosting/etc is also generally way above “average”.  Almost every single one of my regulars tips me generously every time.  In that way it’s become a bit abnormal when I don’t receive a tip.  I also DO live in an area where tipping is a normal part of the culture DESPITE service workers receiving a real hourly wage on their paycheck.  But it’s also a very expensive area to live in (Bay Area).  Tipping just feels like a fact of life.  I tip my baristas, Uber drivers, delivery people, masseuse, hotel workers, and bartenders handsomely.  Generosity just feels like such good energy to me.  I’m lucky that my clients tip me well so that I always feel able to pay it forward to service workers I interact with daily with decent tips.  So despite my opening statement to this long paragraph, the truth is that I kinda do expect tips.  Just because it’s the norm with most of my clients and with most of the services I engage as well.  But I would not think negatively of a client who didn’t tip.

The only time I feel annoyed about the lack of tip is if a client has gone significantly over on his allotted time, I’ve been gracious enough not to kick him out in a way that would have been awkward and possibly soured his memory of the experience, but he hasn’t bothered to add anything to the rate for the time he booked.  Example: client books an hour, he’s not quite satisfied at the hour mark so I let things go over by 10 minutes of playtime, then he takes a shower and lounges around chatting with me for 15 minutes instead of getting dressed and leaving.  By the time he leaves we are 1 hour and 40 minutes past the session start time.  But he only paid for an hour.  In this circumstance I will often be annoyed by the lack of tip and it will affect how I view the client.  I can understand not being able to afford to pay 1.5X my hourly rate when the client was only planning to spend an hour with me.  But even a $10 or $20 tip says “thanks for going above and beyond”.  It’s not even really about the money in these cases.  Just the acknowledgement that I went above and beyond what was paid for and returning the favor by going above and beyond what was charged.  By any amount.

Yes take it slow. All the goods are available but just not all at once. My favourite clients are those who kiss. And bottoms of course, especially those who respond well to rimming. Hey, I like all my clients…I always think I’ve an awesome job. Meeting people, having fun with them, leaving them happy and satisfied.

If someone's only going to be with you for an hour or two, taking it slowly might not be the best use of their time :-)
