I just looked at the dayuse app.......rates are not door-buster low (if anybody was thinking they would/should be) considering late-shift housekeeping staff could clean up the room and the hotel could still use it for a late arrival the same day......for my area, rates seem to be close to the regular nightly rate and include times like 9-5, 12-5, 7-12, 12-8, 4-11, 10-6.......other than that little concern, the concept is a great one......

True dayuse is not bargain rates.  I generally like to meet up during the day anyway which can make normal check in/out times difficult, so Dayuse is a perfect solution.

This is why the app is a solution for me too. It’s the convenience of checking in at any time of the day convenient to me. My regular “go to” offers three time windows and three rates.

I’m pretty sure they don’t offer bargain rates on purpose to avoid attracting a type of client that might not fit in with the types who usually book there.  Sometimes the rates are a huge bargain tho compared to the cost of booking a hotel room overnight when you only need it for a couple hours.  $89 or even $109 vs $189 definitely feels like a great deal to me!

I too love how convenient the site is to use.

I used to really LOVE the recharge app when it was doing a similar concept except you could book rooms by the minute, meaning the less time you used them the less you got charged, and you could check out from your phone app as soon as you closed the hotel room door and left, and the charges would stop accruing immediately.  It was the same thing with no cancellation fees and not being charged until you actually checked into the hotel.  Unfortunately that idea didn’t work out or last.  Hope something similar comes back soon tho as it was wildly convenient.

Last week when I read the title of this topic, I scrolled and noted the website that another forum member had listed.  I accessed it and was mighty surprised as to what hotels in San Francisco were there.  Since the requested rates were mighty reasonable, I do think that I'll have an early play session and visit from an escort who lives in the area before year's end.

A shout out goes to the originator of the thread.

It's an interesting idea, though I think it's probably not as good in smaller market cities like mine.   There's only about 4 listings total.

Some of the mainline hotel chains started more day use options during the pandemic, though I think that's starting to wind down as the hotels fill up again.

Hilton has been running a dayuse option site targeted for people wanting a temp office option, the site lets you pick a date without a checkout date.  https://www.workspacesbyhilton.com/

Hyatt implemented theirs with an offer code "OFFICE".  I'm not sure how they manage checkin times on that basis though.

IHG and Marriot seem to have only had limited offers.
