Ironic that in one thread, posters are chiding escorts for doing things to keep themselves in-shape and fresh-faced, yet in another, they're beating up celebs for not aging well.

My posting the video of former celebrities was not an attempt at "beating up celebs for not aging well."

I like old movies from an earlier era.   I know that many others also like old movies.

Reading through the posts, I do not see anyone beating up on the celebs.  I certainly did not.

The posted responses  mostly show curiosity who some of the former actors were.

Someone sent the video to me and I enjoyed the video.  I thought that many forum members would also like and be interested in seeing how former celebrities looked after their stardom fell.

Everyone will age and will not look attractive, if they live long enough.

Again, no put down is or was intended.

I think #2 might be Anita Ekberg (1931-2015), best remembered for her role in Fellini's La Dolce Vita.

Mystery solved.

The actress' name was Romy Schneider.

She was the second actress in the video, following Alain Delon.

In life, she was the live-in partner of Alain Delon, although they never married.

She did not speak English and was from Vienna/Germany.  Not speaking English kept her from making American films although she made many European films that were shown in some theaters in the U.S.

Below is a little about her along with some of her photos.

No. It's not Romy Schneider. The first image of #2 we see in the video is of a woman who is at least in her 60s. Romy Schneider died at 43.

I wasn't 100% sure when I posted last night, but I can now say #2 is definitely Anita Ekberg

Here's a Daily News article about her from 2015, the year of her death ...

Anita Ekberg in 'La Dolce Vita' (1960) was sexy, but also symbolic - New York Daily News (nydailynews.com)

If you scroll down the article, the second image of Ekberg in 1955 is a different pose but from the same photo shoot--she is wearing the same dress and earrings--as one of the images used in the video.

You are correct, Romy Schneider died too young for the person at number 2 to be her.

Thanks for the research.

I will let my friend know who gave me the Rony Schneider data, that it cannot be correct.

Thanks for clearing up the missing identities.

This was a fun exercise last night when I had nothing better to do. When Whitman posted his answers for 2 and 7, I checked the photos one can find on the Internet of celebrities at different stages in their lives and could see he was correct.

Given that some of these people lived to advanced ages, I found all images to be sympathetic as they were all dressed and tried to look their best no matter what.

Some definitely looked better than others, whether that is because of lifestyle, genetics or cosmetic surgery, but I also think of others who have aged incredibly well and were not part of the video.  Cicily Tyson looked far younger than 95 when she passed away, and same with Cloris Leachman at 94.  Catherine Deneuve still looks great for her late 70s (her mom is turning 110 this year!), and of course the amazing Danielle Darrieux who remained quite beautiful until her passing at the age of 100.

The only male in the collection of actors is a Frenchman (now Swiss) actor named Alain Delon-

In his day, he was considered top billing as a male actor.

He is alive and lives in Switzerland.

I looked him up, and he's apparently a supporter of an anti-immigrant Swiss political party, although he's an immigrant himself. Talk about adding hypocrisy to assholishness. Might have aged better had he not smoked. His son, Alain-Fabien, isn't bad-looking either, though it looks as though he picked up his father's stupid smoking habit, all the more stupid because we know so much more about the bad effects than we did in 1960, around when Pop took up the habit...

Pop was born in France during 1937 so was child when Germany occupied significant part of France.

Are you really going to criticize him for smoking?  Jeez, dude

Getting back to Alain Delon, he and other celebrities moved to Switzerland to escape high taxes and guard their privacy. When I lived in Geneva 40 years ago, we had David Niven, Richard Burton, Sophia Loren and others living within a stones throw and none of them was considered "Swiss". Neither is Delon. He may have residency but that it all.

Switzerland is a lovely place to grow old in. That's where Charlie Chaplin chose to live and die as well after being hounded out of the US.

Above at my post dated June 13, I acknowledged an error I made about the second person's identity in the video.

A poster was kind enough to furnish the correct name of the actress.

Now it is time to correct another error.  Alan Delon was initially French.  In 1999 he became a Swiss citizen, thus then acquiring dual citizenship - France and Switzerland.

There is much written about his dual citizenship.  Below is one link that confirms that he has both French and Swiss citizenship.

This thread has become a few movie history lessons.

I think another difference besides a few decades is that the photos of these stars in their youth were studio publicity shots, done with perfect makeup, perfect lighting, and the best professional photographers in the industry.  Even in their youth, I doubt these stars looked quite so ideal in candid moments.

I suppose Pietro Boselli is the most handsome man on the planet these days. I wonder what he'll look like in 40 years. Or even 30 years?

Pietro Boselli (born 3 December, 1988) is an Italian model, engineer, and former mathematics lecturer at University College London.

Here he is with his brother. Christ! I think I'd feel really bad if I were his brother!

I prefer Ryan Phillippe, a guy I could get behind.

I could support Pietro Boselli being one of the most handsome men on the planet these days, but being the most handsome is subjective.

I stand corrected. I moved away from Switzerland before he became a citizen. Even before he applied since it takes 7 or 9 years, I forget which, to become a citizen. Also one has to apply in a specific canton so I wonder where he chose to live. I’m guessing Geneva but possibly Lausanne. They’re both great.

Delon Delon lives in Chêne-Bougeries in the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland, and Douchy, Loiret, France. - Dual citizenship -

I had a friend who lived in Malagnou, which is part of Chenes-Bougeries. A very nice area, which has homes and some apartment buildings. When I lived there the municipal government was Communist (probably Socialist but my friend called them commies). Because he lived in one of the largest houses in the area, set in a park-like setting, the town placed a bus stop right opposite the front of his house. It was the start of the line so the buses would idle there from 5:00 am before beginning their route, Very annoying. These can be the kind of problems for the rich living in Geneva.
