How do you guys feel about using Venmo to donate to your escorts? I like the convenience of it because I hate carrying around cash - especially in NYC. I have spoken to a few escorts who will gladly accept Venmo. Does it bother you that the escort can see your real name? Is there a way to disguise my name on Venmo so escorts won't see it?

thoughts, reactions, advice, comments welcomed. :)

Only for my regulars - they have seen my name on my credit card when we go to dinner or have been to my house so they know my name anyway. Other than that, cash is king in my book. ?

I’m with you, @Starlight77 i like the convenience. However, one time I used it, I was shocked when I paid him and he read out my full real name to me. I hadn’t realized Venmo would reveal all that. I had used it before for massages, but never thought twice about it and thought it was just a confirmation that money was sent.

unless or until there’s a way to disguise my name to the payee, I won’t be using it.

Any payment option that includes the ability to chargeback is not the friend of an escort.

If there's trust, that's one thing, but otherwise, as @KeepItReal said above: CASH IS KING.

Not only does cash protect escorts against chargebacks, as a client I prefer it because I don't really want an electronic record of my payment to providers.

Just don't forget to change all your Venmo privacy settings and transactions to Private. The default is set to public and all your contacts can view who you've paid if you don't. Which I often enjoy doing for nosy entertainment... :)

I’m amazed the majority of my contacts, both personal and professional, who use Venmo have their privacy settings set to public. I’m also surprised the Venmo default is public and they haven’t had enough push back to change it. I’ve seen transactions between my manager and his son, the sales guy at my auto dealership paying for football tickets, my next door neighbor paying another neighbor for groceries. I haven’t seen anything salacious, but regardless of purpose, I wouldn’t want my financial transactions to be public. What I haven’t figured out is if I have my settings as private and the other party is public, does the transaction, including my name, appear on the public party’s feed which is viewable by their contacts, who may also be one of my contacts? ?

I know this has been discussed multiple times ad nauseam and a lot of old school guys love cash but I’ve been in situations where I’m glad I’m not carrying it. See my post from a couple of days ago.

Trust is a two way street, if I hire I can be trusted to hold up my end of the deal no matter the method of payment, however, I have issues with meeting a guy and dealing with issues of drug abuse, unusual behavior that borders psychological issues, and last minute interruptions that compromise my personal safety. If I had cash and he wanted it bad enough, he could have fought me for it with the help of someone else and there would have been nothing that I can do except tell the police. Be careful!!! Once cash is gone.....it’s gone... your safety is worth more than what ever cash is in your wallet.

This hobby is not for the timid!!! There are no secrets and there will always be a trail that a skilled investigator can find. Your phones, email address, IP addresses, and such are all recorded. If you want true anonymity use crypto but even that’s not all that easy to use and hardly anyone takes it.

Guys fear what they don’t understand, learn to use the payment apps so you get comfortable but if the provider insists on cash and you really want to spend your time with them go ahead, but keep your safety in mind.
