a 40-part (about 45 minutes each), four-season series first aired 2014-2017 by AMC, I think.......lavish production taking a fair amount of liberty (no pun intended!) documenting the true story of the Culper Ring, a Patriot spy group that greatly aided General Washington during the American Revolution......actors portray true historic participants......a few little pieces of thought-to-be-true history are destroyed here and there (Nathan Hale did not really say, "I regret that I only have one life......." as he was being hanged)......Benedict Arnold's descent into treason is examined at length.......impressive reenactments of battles at Monmouth and Yorktown.....interesting views of actual towns and cities in the 1770s, of course......after many hours of getting to know the characters, the final scenes are moving and emotional.......strangely, the parental warning at the beginning of each episode only warned of "sex", despite the rare sex scenes being very tame and occasional hatchets to the face and pervasive graphic battle and fight scenes not meriting a "blood/gore/violence" mention at all........
