I stopped hiring around July last year and I've been isolating ever since.

I was offered the vaccine and I'm thinking of getting it so I can hire again.

After being vaccinated, do you feel more safe/comfortable hiring?

How long has it been, and have you experienced any side effects?

Muchas gracias for your feedback.

I'll be fully vaxed in few weeks. Most info indicates the risk of contraction is low. There are no absolutes here and even with the vaccines there are still chances, but all I can do stay informed of the situation and assess the risks accordingly. I have trip planed in the next couple of months and I intend to hire. If something changes, like variants geting out of control, I've set it up so I can cancel the trip and (mostly) recoup any losses. If there is one thing this last year has taught me is that while it was right to take the risk of this seriously if I wait for it to drop to 0% I'll be waiting forever.

If you waited until all risks were eliminated, you would never leave your house. You might die while driving to work or the supermarket. On a trip you could die in the Uber on the way to the airport or the plane might crash. CDC data so far shows that less than 1 in 10,000 vaccinated people get infected with Covid, and less than 1 in a million end up dying from it. If 1 in a million is too much risk for you, then stay home, get your groceries delivered, buy everything from Amazon, and hopefully you can work from home. Otherwise, live your life. Oh, and if you hire during your travels, tell us all the juicy details ?

... If something changes, like variants geting out of control...

I gave references to two recently-published studies in the "Whos' got the shot" string in the Political Forum. Both Pfizer and Moderna are highly effective against all variants studied..

I had two shots of the Pfizer vaccine; the second one was in February. I've not experienced any side effects.

Do you feel more comfortable hiring?

I have been fully vaccinated. ...received the Moderna and to date have not encountered any adverse effects. I have yet to hire but plan to resume soon. There is an escort in my area (a rarity) whom I desire to meet. In my message to him at RM, I asked if he'd been vaccinated. He responded that he was working on it. If we do manage to meet and play, I'd request that each of us present our cards of proof, kiss deeply, and then proceed in a lot of missed play.

So you and him are both comfortable showing each other your full name and date of birth or gonna cover that up. Plus they sell a lot of fake cards online so it's not fool proof.
