I think it's one of those thingamajiggies where you shuffle the syllables to get a different but related meaning: in this case, Abandon all hope ⇒ A hope in all band on

 

The guy wearing the bracelet is a nice touch, no doubt, and my hope is he's one of the boys in the band. I wouldn't abandon him though, either way.
