Have you ever seen a psychic?

I have, and it was an interesting experience.

Before I even sat down or uttered a word, Raymond (the psychic's name) said, "Canada." I sat down & asked him what he meant. He said he didn't know, just that the moment he saw me, he got a strong sense of Canada.

Now, since I'm Filipino & wasn't wearing anything with a maple leaf or a Canadian sports team, nothing about my appearance would clue him in to Canada. But the previous weekend, I had been in Toronto for my beloved grandmother's funeral. She took care of my brother & me a lot the 2 years we lived in Toronto because both parents worked more than full-time. OK, I was intrigued.

He went on to say that he sensed a very strong presence, someone from Canada, was with me that day. He couldn't pin it down more specifically, just that that person's spirit was with me and would always be with me.

He went on to say that he saw the trip to a wedding in Baltimore I had planned for the upcoming weekend. Mind you, this was with no clues or prompts on my part. He saw my conflict with Michael & knew I was rather anxious about it. He also saw money problems (I was low on flow at the time) but assured me I'd be fine financially. My conflict was with Mike (OK, he was a teeny bit off because nobody called him Michael), one of the other groomsmen in the wedding party, with whom I just didn't get along. In fact, our once tight-knit tennis foursome (we had been on skiing weekends together, summer share down in Rhode Island, a trip to the Virgin Islands, and a bachelor party in Vegas) had pretty much disbanded because another guy & I just couldn't take Mike any longer.

He also said that I would meet the great love of my life when I'm 58 & would live to 92. Let's see if he got those two things right.

My friend from work had gone with me & gotten a reading from another psychic that was a total waste of time & money. After we compared notes at dinner, she went to see Raymond the very next day because she desperately wanted him to see a future with a guy she was obsessing over at the time. He got a few things right, but saw no future with the guy. Indeed, she had a very brief relationship with the object of her affections, but it ended quickly & badly.

So, anybody else seen a psychic? Did they actually see some things that turned out to be true? Or was it a total waste of time & money??

My mom and her friends all went to a psychic from time to time. I'm not really sure if what they said came true or not but I felt it was more a form of entertainment for them. As a form of entertainment, I can see it as worth the time and money (of course it depends on how much free time/disposable income one has and how much a session cost.)

Did your psychic have a nice physique and if so, did he give your reading while wearing a tanktop or heck while he's shirtless? I actually think for any psychic who has a nice body that would definitely get him some regulars.

I have never consulted a psychic, but one time I was having sex with an escort for the first time, and he suddenly seemed to go into a trance, and told me that my late father was trying to reach me through him. He said my father was saying that I should let go of my regret about having been unable to get to see him before he died. Since we had never met before and he knew nothing about my personal life, I was amazed that he could know that my father had died a year earlier as I was rushing to get to him in time to say good-bye. He said that kind of trance often happened to him and he had no control over it.

I seem to have some odd psychic quality of my own. On several occasions I have become aware that someone I know has died, at the moment it happens. Usually it happens when I am sound asleep, and I awake suddenly and say out loud, "X is dead." The first time it happened, when I was in my 20s, I didn't even know that my childhood neighbor Marie was ill, and I was shocked when my mother called several hours later to tell me that Marie had indeed died in a hospital just when I had awakened and made that statement. However, once I was walking down a flight of stairs, when I halted and said, "Bea is dead," and sure enough, she had died just then. It is always a woman, and it has happened even when the person is thousands of miles away. However, I have never experienced any knowledge of the future.

My brother moved into a new home with his wife/kids. Every time it rained, there would be random wet spots on the ceiling in the living room. He contacted the builder, and no one could find the source of the leak. My sister-in-law and a friend went to see a psychic on a lark. The medium told my SIL upon meeting her, and her not having uttered one word, said, “chimney” is what you are seeking. Weird, right? She didn’t think anything about it. A couple of weeks later, the builder announced they found the leak and fixed it. Where? In the chimney. Go figure.

I’ve seen two psychics. One used tarot cards and the other was based on astrology (first name and birthdate). This was well before the internet in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

The tarot card user predicted my grandmother’s death. It was a group session where she visits the client’s home and up to 6 people get to see her individually. She had no information about me before the session. She told me there was a female relative, not my mother, who was seriously ill, was prepared and wanted to go, and had others waiting for her arrival. She then followed it up with, “but you already know this because you’re psychic.” My grandmother was in the hospital and passed 72 hours later.

The other one sat me down and the first thing she asked was who close to me was gay. I replied that aside from me, several close friends. She just smiled and said, “good, now that we have that out of the way I can give you a better reading.” I was considering relocating halfway across the country for a job (she didn’t know this). She told me without prompting that I was considering uprooting myself. She didn’t think it was a bad thing, but didn’t see it as long-term and even said she thought something would happen to change my mind before I did it. Sure enough, four days later I received an offer locally and never relocated. She also encouraged clients to bring photos of people. I showed her one of my best friend and she asked why we weren’t close anymore. That wasn’t the case, but she kept repeating she saw distance between us. This went on for about a minute and she clarified that ”distance” may be physical and not emotional. He was in Puerto Rico on vacation at that time. She finished the session by asking me if I realized I had “the gift.”

I’m typically a skeptic, but I have to admit, given the accuracy of their observations, I’m less of one with respect to psychics. I’m not saying Miss Cleo or those dollar carnival charlatans are legitimate, but the second one I saw was a local celebrity and worked with law enforcement to help solve cases, so she had some level of legitimacy.

As far as my abilities, I’ve never pursued it, as both suggested. I will often have someone with whom I’ve neither seen nor spoken with in a long while repeatedly pop into my head over a short period of time and will hear from or see them. I don’t know whether it’s psychic ability or coincidence.

My psychic "power" isn't as strong as yours. At every single wedding I've ever attended, the thought "these two will be together forever" sometimes hits me, sometimes not. In all the cases where the thought occurs to me, the couple is still married. When it hasn't, they're all divorced. You might argue that this is just my judgment based on my knowledge of the bride & groom, but it happens even when I'm the +1 & don't know the couple at all.

OK, I've been thinking about this for a while but my question to those of you who've had readings: How do you find a psychic? I'm sure there are more than a few charlatans out there.

(Wow, don't think I've ever used the word charlatan before.) ?

When I was in college they had some palm readers come in one time on campus.

Don't even know why really. All I remember was she telling me I was going to be a

science fiction writer.

Wait.....I’m having a ”vision”.....you dressed like a nerd in college.

Wow...I never knew I had the “gift”.

How do you find a psychic? I'm sure there are more than a few charlatans out there.

They’re ALL charlatans.

You go for the enetertainment....you stay because you like talking about yourself for an hour.

Hey, it’s (usually) cheaper and less damaging than psychotherapy. I say go for it!

Not so much a psychic but a witch in New Orleans. I was there with a friend and he wanted to go get a tarot reading really bad so we found this hole in the wall shop just off Bourbon Street. Two goth looking young women were working and they did do readings so we decided to since it looked pretty legit. Interestingly enough they didn't use a tarot deck but a regular playing card deck. I was very skeptical but it was cheap and I wanted to support my friend. The young lady, who looked a lot like Winona Ryder from Bettlejuice, sat me down and immediately mentioned she sensed that I was longing for something. She said you want to find love, a boyfriend. I was a bit shocked because I didn't look gay and never said anything that would clue her in. For all she knew I could have been with my friend, who by the way was way gay, lol. But in fact it was what I was thinking of going into it so she nailed that up front. She did the reading and it came down to I will meet someone in two days, weeks, years. She couldn't be more specific but she was confident from the cards that it would be in twos. Two years later I met the love of my life. That moment will always stick with me and I do believe in things beyond what we know. We were together for 12 years and he was born in a year that ended in 2.

Sometimes I really believe this is all a simulation/matrix reality.

Many years ago, in the early 2000’s, I was visiting a mate in Boston for New Year’s. After the festivities NYE, we went out on the 1st to one of the popular places - I want to say Cafe something but can’t recall. Anyway, they had psychics there all set up in an area with tables so you could see what the New Year held for you. I went to one, she did the palm reading, asked to hold something of mine, and read my cards. From what I remember, I was told I have a very long life line, I’m very intuitive (I do remember she emphasized I should always trust my gut/instincts), and the fellow I am “destined” to meet has something to do with buildings. She did say I wasn’t going to meet him for a while yet, but he will be involved in buildings - either designing them, building them, selling them, etc.. She apologised that she couldn’t be more specific, but she claimed it was because he was not someone I would meet in my immediate future.

17 years later, I’m still waiting for my destined “building man”. ??‍♂️

Two summers ago, back when people could meet, I participated in a training course in Tarot cards, as part of a Fun in the Summer effort with some other retired friends. Although none of us really believed in Tarot, it was interesting to learn some of the history and symbolism represented in the cards. But the two things I took away from the experience were: (1) hearing the Tarot reader suggest meanings for the cards might coax you into seeing matters in a light you hadn't previously considered and this new perspective might give you a new insight into your issue or situation. It's merely the power of suggestion using a tool that might mean anything you want it to mean. (2) When we get a reading in Tarot, pronouncements from a psychic, or advice from an astrologer, etc., we tend to remember the three things that came true and not the other 100 that never happened. It's the same way people look upon "answered prayers," forgetting all those many other times the answer was "No."

We are the most easily deceived when we want to believe.

I remember another psychic story. A while back I went to Coney Island with a friend. At the time, she was head over heels for some Egyptian guy & talked about him every waking moment. When we saw a gypsy fortune teller, of course my friend had to get a reading because she wanted to know what her future was with the Egyptian.

I just rolled my eyes because I assumed all psychics were scamsters (this was before my visit with Raymond). I figured psychics either told you stuff so vague that it could apply to anything or they told you what you wanted to hear so you would keep coming back.

Well, my friend gave it away from the start when she asked what about the Egyptian. The gypsy woman told her straight up, "You will not marry him." When she asked why not, the gypsy couldn't say. My friend was so upset that she didn't ask about anything else.

Well, whaddya know, the Egyptian turned out to have not just 1 but 3 wives, and he was trying to get my friend to marry him to get a green card.

Polygamy is pretty common in Muslim countries. Only illegal to Muslims in countries in black:

Shhh. Stop talking for a moment as the image enters my mind.

I’m seeing a physician. Maybe an internist or cardiologist. You trained under a mentor who was rather clinically conservactive and thorough.

How am I doing?

  • 2 months later...

I have a buddy who does readings for me.  I call him a jack of all trades...  I met him years ago, I'm his massage client...and let's just say when I see him I get the extra special treatment.  Until I met him I never really put stock in the idea that people could tell me my future or my past.  I just reconnected with him (Covid) and he told me that he primarily does tarot readings as a form of income and rarely does massage...but for me he'll do massage.  Before he did tarot, we would finish the massage, have some fun and then he would go into a reading.  The first time he did it, I was shocked at his accuracy.  I don't really talk about myself but there were certain details about my life that he nailed.  This last time that I met him...we did the massage, the fun and then he brought out the cards.  He has 3 decks and shuffled them before me and started the reading.  It was surreal...he would ask me a question and I would answer and while I answered he would flip the cards.  The same cards would pop up every single time and then he would go into detail about what the cards were saying.  It was very accurate and then just to be sure he would shuffle and flip the cards again.  The same cards would come up again and again...he said the energy is giving this answer for some reason.  Then he asks me more questions and the cards get flipped more and it's like they are telling me what's happened and what will come next.  It's insane.....almost scary.  The other thing that my buddy does a little more amazing.  On occasion I've had aches and pains that don't seem to go away and without saying anything to him..during the massage he will stop and linger on the part of my body that hurts.  One time I had overdone it at the gym and my left shoulder was in so much pain.  He stopped at my left shoulder and just held it in his hands.  He then started shaking and the next thing I knew the pain was gone.  I wouldn't have believed that something like that could happen but it did.  It's like there is an energy that he posses because no one...out of all of the massages I've ever had....does that.  I asked him last time I saw him, how did he know and he told me that it's an energy that sends a signal to him.  He is truly an amazing man!

Yes, I have used the services of psychics with very accurate predictions.

Spiritualism and Clairvoyance are just science that we don't understand, yet.

Everyone's born with the gift but very few develop it.

It can be so real and accurate that even governments have used it.
