Greetings providers. So, how often do you get STD testing done? When I used to hire more frequently, I would get a general screening a couple times per year. And have your clinic or doctor visits been harder to arrange during the pandemic? So much of normal life has been altered, even checking one’s dipstick.

This has probably been asked before but searching was a challenge. “STD” is too short, and “testing” brought back a bunch of COVID posts. ?

I’m tested every 3 months. I’m on prep so they do a health check for that too. I have a VIP card for the clinic (yes, there is such a thing!!) so I don’t need to book, I can just turn up which is convenient.

During the pandemic I’ve had periods during lockdowns of seeing very few clients (only some regulars who are alone) but I still test every 3 months whether I’ve seen 3 clients in that period or 60, it’s still important to test regularly and know your status. The clinic I use are excellent and still easy to use during the pandemic. You just see fewer people in the waiting room and wear a mask.

Not an escort...but I get blood/urine tested every 90 days for STD’s as part of my Truvada PreP protocol, also we watch liver/kidney function. I know there are more invasive swab tests, I’m not doing those at this point in time.

The anal swab thing is uncomfortable especially if ur hole not open . Since my hole is tight it was hard sticking it in

I do the anal and throat swab twice a year...I actually think the throat swab is way worse. I barely even notice the anal swab, but maybe that says more about me than the procedure.

The testing protocol for brothel workers in the state of Nevada is WEEKLY testing for STIs, not every 3 months. I strongly (and respectfully!) urge all escorts to consider matching such intervals. The 3 month testing interval is the medical recommendation for non-sex workers. But that interval can (and should) be shortened if clinically warranted. Review this with your physician & decide together what is best for you.

Most STIs are asymptomatic. One CAN get chlamydia, gonorrhea, even syphilis from kissing. The incidence of STIs in the Gay community (or those who are sexually active with men) has never been highest. Therefore, the 3 month interval is woefully inadequate for some people, whether escort or client. An STI panel by definition includes a pharyngeal and anal swab for chlamydia & gonorrhea. Blood work must include syphilis (and HIV, of course if one is HIV negative). If your clinic does not provide this full battery of tests, ask for it, or go elsewhere. One could very easily add mycoplasma & trichomoniasis to this standard battery of tests. These are less frequent STIs & are often missed.

Much love to all escorts & the services they provide.

Be safe.

Josh

PS. I'm a physician on the East coast and I treat STIs All.The.Time. For some, 3 months is far too long of an interval in my professional opinion.

Here's a related question, if you go for testing at a free clinic do you donate and if so how much?

When I went to a free clinic I was pretty broke so didn't donate then. However, I always make it a point to support the clinic in my end of the year giving. Usually about $50 (I give that same amount to about 5-6 organizations per year).

Have also been getting tested for covid every other week to be safe.

May I ask, and I'm not challenging you or trying to be disrespectful, but what is the clinical goal of being tested for Covid every other week? I ask with these thots in mind:

1) People who have no symptoms of Covid, yet are infected have a 60% or greater chance in producing a false negative test.

2) What would you do differently, if anything, if it returns poz?

Just curious.

Hope you are well.

Josh

PS I love how proactive you are with keeping yourself safe from HIV

Because you can have covid without knowing it, and being that I’m meet different people all the time it’s good to be safe. So meeting strangers I take the risk every time, i could ly down with someone who has covid and no symptoms and still be passed on. Also when traveling a lot of places now either require you to quarantine or have a neg test result.

Ah, you're an escort. Now I understand. Sorry, I didnt know know that before till I read your profile. I shudda been more thorough.

Ok, first: your testing is absolutely NOT making you safe. The reality is it's making your interactions more dangerous.

IF you have Covid, but have NO symptoms, your results are 60% likely to return NEGATIVE. Yes, it's a false negative but unfortunately, the technology we have is not as good as we need in finding truly infected people who have no symptoms. The Covid testing technology we have is best at testing someone with symptoms.

Therefore, the use of testing to give you the feeling of security is likely actually giving you a false security. That's how it's making your interactions more dangerous.

Also when traveling a lot of places now either require you to quarantine or have a neg test result

Yah, that makes sense. If one has to show a recent neg test to board a plane or train, then you gotta do what you gotta do.

So be aware that not only could your clients be inadvertently giving YOU Covid, you very possibly could be giving it to THEM.

How do you feel about that?

PS. I'm not judging you. I promise. I freaking love escorts!

Testing makes me feel safe.. sorry to say. I always compare getting tested for Covid to getting tested for STDS. You don’t get tested for STDS because you think you have symptoms, you get tested because you wanna make sure you don’t have STDs. Covid is transited by contact with someone who has it, being that I am with clients and I don’t know if they’ve been tested or if they have it. I get tested just to make sure I have it, and I feel responsible doing very so that. There’s people who don’t get tested at all cause they don’t have symptoms and they’re usually the ones who end up having Covid. The CDC has also said more people should get tested so they know sooner that you don’t spread it. I also travel a lot and it’s required in some states. Science is Science and until I get vaccinated this is what I’m doing. My DR has also applauded me for getting tested so often. It works for me that’s all that matter, if you don’t leave your home then it shouldn’t be an issue, I do though. Cheers ?

  • 2 weeks later...

I know there are more invasive swab tests, I’m not doing those at this point in time.

Unless you get the appropriate swabs (if you suck dick or get rimmed/fucked) you won't know if you have gonorrhea and/or chlamydia. Blood and urine covers junk in your dick and syphilis in your system.

Most STIs are asymptomatic. One CAN get chlamydia, gonorrhea, even syphilis from kissing. The incidence of STIs in the Gay community (or those who are sexually active with men) has never been highest....

This is the absolute truth - every 3 months is not regular enough for people in this industry, and frankly it's not great for people that pay for our time. Testing for PrEP every 3 months is great for the larger lab results that give me a better understanding of my overall health - but getting tested regularly in between and specifically before working is what makes me feel safe.

Being "tested recently" doesn't mean someone didn't fuck 4 guys before trying to put it in me - so I try to work/shoot/play with people right after they are tested, and if I've been busy since my last test I try to be honest about it.

STI's were awful going into this pandemic, and by the time we come out of the pandemic we'll barely have enough data to understand the current levels. I'm very worried about the gap that lack of prevention/treatment services over the last year has created and I'm personally shocked that porn studios are shooting. To put it politely, it'll be a frustrating couple of years for us and y'all.
