Here are my suggestions:

  • 'meh' - replace 11 (oops) with 20 (unamused)
  • 'haha' - replace 19 (grinning face) with 14 (rolling on floor laughing)

I'm in the process of reloading the reactions. I'm making do with what is currently available. This will take a while but here's your chance to make suggestions. ( p) is positive (n) is negative and (m) is neutral.reactions.jpg

3 = cool!

6 = oh, brother!

11 = surprised

15 = wtf?!?

16 = blushing

25 = hmmm

30 = bwahahaha!

31 = zip it!

32 = barf!

none of the faces say 'meh' to me, and I'd like a nyah nyah nyah choice that's better than #7

try to go for only about seven or eight of these........like before.......and ones that are obvious (example: #15 verbose wouldn't be obvious just looking at his face)

in the meantime, I'll take a cup of black #10 please

I agree that the previous 8 were quite workable, While I think #11 suggests more surprise than "Meh"-ness, 34 suggests more "just surprise", than 12, which looks to me like "the sky is falling" and the alien is very, very worried.

#17 definitely conveys being bored, but I think that could be used for both it and verbose.

I would use #16 for HaHA, because the angles for eyes could also be taken for anger and the open mouth could be

taken for screaming in pain.

I think I would use #7 instead of #2 for applause if you can't managed to get the hands-clapping back.

But so long as the text appears if you hover, it really doesn't matter that much. Currently, on my older version safari ,they are all appearing as navy blue question marks, but the texts (and positions) is letting me choose as before.

I assume you know this Guy but just in case you don't.

I've been intermittently getting the "?" symbol where reactions go today. At some point I could see the new reactions. Now it's back to just a bunch of "?" symbols. I'm on Chrome, so it may have to do with that. I assume it just the birthing process. If so, never mind. But let us know whether it's a boy or girl.

And this is just an efficiency suggestion. You obviously don't what the word ***** used. So under "stevenkesslar" you might take out "Just An Ignorant *****" and replace it with the verbose icon. It would save people a lot of time.

I think you made some great choices for reactions and I'm really glad there's going to be a laughing one!

I also like the new ones. I hope the "angry" icon is not necessarily a ding against the poster. Although I hope it will not need to be used as much in the political forum in the future, there have been things reported by friends on facebook that drew lots of "angry" votes in solidarity with the poster, i.e. being angry at what was being reported, rather than being angry at the poster for saying it.

I really like the options of 6 (eyes roll) and 25 (hmm..I'm thinking about that), because they are reactions that I frequently have, but don't know how to express with the current choices. I don't know why something for "verbose" is necessary--because it is so obvious--though I think 17 expresses one's reaction better than 15 does.

  • 3 months later...

I was wondering why is "Sad" considered a negative reaction here when it comes to tallying points? I don't see the logic. Yesterday somebody answered an escort was no longer around and I initially gave him a sad face till I remembered it was a negative point here so I changed it to a thumbs up! Sometimes people say things that are sad but that isn't necessary bad or negative. Get my point? ?

I don't know why it's associated as a negative reaction... that's how it was by default. If the community agrees, I can change it to a neutral reaction. (I don't know if it should be considered a "positive" reaction, so neutral would be a decent compromise.)

I noticed since the site relaunched the reactions have changed. I think they went back to the default ones.

When I migrated the forum, all reactions were showing up as a question mark "?". I had to manually re-associate them with no idea what they were before. I can edit any of the ones that are there or create new ones if they make sense.

A neutral reaction! Just because somebody say something sad doesn't mean it's bad! ☹
