This! ? This is why the majority of my regulars have come to enjoy overnights over a single hour session. There's never any "what do I get for $300 for an hour?" dialogue. It's a nice stretch of time where we can do whatever we feel and there's mutual respect.

 

Keep in mind, some new clients DO have hesitations, no provider is immune to the client who is constantly calculating "what I'm getting" to the amount agreed upon. Those are usually one-off clients. But as @Benjamin_Nicholas stated, if I sense that the client is struggling with rate prior to booking to a session, I let him/her know that it might be something to think about before committing and feeling cheated. And that it's an open market with various providers charging various rates for time.

For an overnight or longer session I am definitely willing to go higher but $300 is the max I've ever paid for an hour and I've only done that in kinda expensive cities with well-known guys.

 

Although I am finding that a lot of younger, inexperienced guys still try to go for $300 an hour. I am pretty wary of that and would rather go $200-$250 for someone who is lesser known.

 

For the overnight I did $1200 when all was said and done but I am including hotel, dinner and tip in that (and actually it was an escorting couple as well).

As the saying goes, "Your mileage may vary." Acting in porn won't necessarily make the escort any better than a non-porn escort in the sack. Whether someone is worth paying higher than what appears to be the going average, is up to what the client is willing to pay and what the escort is able to get for his time.

 

With that said, I'm not sure why people assume pornstars/actors readily demand higher rates. I've met many pornstars/actors and all but two had a hourly rate at the $250-300 range.

I think almost everyone thinks about the value they are getting but the threshold depends on the person. Quite obviously even if you say you don't think about the value, eventually it will show in your subsequent hiring behavior. I think it becomes a bit complicated when the rate is reaching someone's limit because they worry about the disappointments. Some best reviewed escorts can give a normal or mediocre service because they know they can constantly get clients even if some won't be returning or left occasional bad reviews. For them they can afford to do so because their rate is high enough and they have a certain number of regulars. I try to avoid them and rather risk the new guy who is advertising with a low rate. My expectations are low and I like positive surprises but that's just how I am and I know myself so I do what is best for me. Also, it helps me find regulars. When I hire someone with a high rate for my limit, I usually start worry. I always find the first time is a struggle for me because finding the match is also tricky. Easy to find the looks but hard to know someone's personality and service until you actually go into bed haha

$300 is really the new normal. I was thinking back to 2006-2012 in SoCal, where I lived for many years, and paying $350 to $450 for two-hour sessions for hot young guys who often had to drive from WeHo and LA all the way down to south OC. Really, given inflation, I don’t think $300/hour is unreasonable at all. Even new guys who may also be “porn stars” who quote $400 an hour often agree to overnights for $1,500, which isn’t much higher than ten years ago.

I very much agree as @Pensant’s experiences mirror my own. Physically glorious young men, who were eager and versatile in bed, charged upto $350 an hour back then. Following the restaurant analogy, if I wanted fast food, then my cap would be $20. For an eight course meal at a Michelin star restaurant I would go up to $1,000. My normal appetite is between those extremes. I want a quality experience when spending time with a provider and don’t mind paying a decent amount if it’s fair.
