Where to go from an awkward start

I was curious how escorts and clients try to make an awkward start into a satisfying experience--esp. where neither one of you has been together before. Recently, I booked an overnight with a favorably reviewed escort here and it was difficult for us to initially connect. I hadn't been with an escort in a while and was more anxious than I would have liked. As the coversation evolved, it was apparent that he hadn't been with a client in a few days and had been having some stress in his life and a lot of caffiene on board. He also made some personal disclosures that made me think that escorting was difficult for him, for a variety of reasons.

 

Cut to the chase---things got better, although I don't think it was an A-list experience for either of us. He initially read me sexually in a way that was different from what I had requested and seemed to be responding to a set of persoanl assumptions about what he needed to do. Having conversation (which ranged over sex, relationships, and life experience) helped, but didn't fix things. I actually came away liking him and would consider seeing him again (not my usual response to an unsatisfactory situation) if I could get through another rough beginning better.
