When this Pandemic is over, I'm thinking of crossing the border and head to NYC to try the hunks over there.

I know NYC is one of the most expensive cities and most competitive markets.

Are these rates the new standard? I've been receiving similar quotes from different providers.

350 1 hr

650 2 hr

900 3 hr

The guy who sent these numbers closed his message by saying: "pretty reasonable right?" I didn't even dare to ask about O.N.

If the above is on the higher-end, what are the average or regular rates in NYC anyway?

Those prices seem very inflated. I am getting prices in the 250-300 / hour rate. How many providers did you speak with?

Massage rates are holding steady at 150-160/hour.

If escort rates spin out of control, which they shouldn't, I will use more masseurs. There are many that offer a thoroughly satisfying experience.

Thank you, I was thinking: WOW! These providers must be really good and NYC become hyper-expensive with COVID.

It's good to always have good advice at hand in this forum. It hasn't been strange to see in this forum providers quoting $400-$600 etc.

So, I was already getting sad thinking that my trip to NYC it was going out of hand due to budgetary restrictions.

I think NY has the widest range of rates of any place. Yes, the uber-wealthy Wall Streeters and lawyers can provide a market for the uber-expensive providers, but there is also a wealth of under-employed wanna-be actors/models, blue collar guys looking for a little extra cash, and boys off the bus from Iowa sleeping on their buddy's couch in the Bronx. I for one don't go for the perfectly-worked bodies and the pristinely-coiffed hair at $500 an hour when I can get the boy next door look or the pizza delivery man at half that rate : )

Demand falls. Supply rises, as “masseurs” expand their range of services. And they raise prices. Brilliant strategy.

The basic economics principles you're hinting at are generally inescapable. They will likely push those escorts to reduce their prices or exit the market, assuming that their specific demands is not inelastic. That might be a big if, though, considering there are people here willing to pay $300 to average-looking escorts. So I can imagine that the adonis-looking escorts could afford to lose some demand and still do well enough to stay in the market.

I was quoted $400 this weekend by someone visiting who is highly reviewed and kindly passed. I actually hired him before at $300 Years back but now he has gone up with COVID and he is more sought after these days.

I didn’t haggle, there are plenty of guys still in range.

I normally just respond with what my usual rate I'm willing to pay, but don't go back and forth haggling. I generally pay a bit below the normal rate, but 9/10 times the guy is willing to go down a bit, I'm sure that's area dependent though

What is a good indicator that a provider is 'popular' or 'in-demand', so it would make sense to pay $350-$400?

Exceptional looks - with verified pictures. Mega-muscle guys offering full service and blonde waif-like bottoms. Been in business for a while. A high number of positive reviews. May have done porn. Has a substantial following on Instagram or other social media.

There really is no reason to pay $350-400 in New York City. When offered those rates I say 'Thank you, That is above my own spending limit at the moment' and leave it at that. I don't haggle, nor do I accept counter offers. It is just a bad way to get things started. The guy will regret offering his services at a 'discount'. Not good.

$350? No way would I pay that, even in NYC. I think $250 is more reasonable. If someone wants to quote $300 or higher, I'll just decline and let them offer lower if they want. I don't like negotiating and risking hard feelings. Some guys ask for higher fees first just to see if they can get it. I have paid higher rates in the past but I've never felt like I got my money's worth for the difference. I don't see the point anymore. There are other guys who will be happy with $250 and do just as good a job, if not better.

I believe you said you are Canadian. Here is something to think about when you think about the rates quoted to you:

350 United States Dollar equals

465.62 Canadian Dollar

650 United States Dollar equals

864.79 Canadian Dollar

900 United States Dollar equals

1,197.39 Canadian Dollar

Now you see how inflated the provider's rates are?

no doubt and yet for some that's not enough variety of guys...

For some clients exclusivity matters too, they prefer the high end guys because they're less likely so see a guy per day.

I do agree with you that natural/fresh beauty sometimes is better than model looks but to each his own.

Wait, I'm 100% with @tenderloin. In my experience model looks = arrogance and lackluster performance.

I've already paid $300 for rough diamonds and the experience has been just as good, and in some cases even better.

I prefer the blue-collar/next-door type rated 5-star few reviews, than the model rated 4.7-star 100 reviews, from which 10-20% are really bad.

My late mother had an expression she often used to express her philosophy about health. “The money you give to the grocer, you don’t give to the doctor”. During this pandemic, more than ever before, I consider the money I give to escorts (or providers as some call them), is more than compensated by the human touch and emotions we share during our all too brief sessions from my point of view. Yes, these sessions are expensive, since most of mine are overnights or weekends because of my living distant from large urban centres, but after each date, my outlook on life and sense of well-being, fortify me for what is coming next. And by looking forward to another date in a month or so, my daily living is bearable. So many other aspects of normal life are restricted now that having the memories of recent pleasures and anticipating future ones not too distant gives me a reason to enjoy each day. BTW I don’t haggle over rates. But I take them into account in my hiring practices.
