Over One Million Gays Have Married

The Census Bureau reports that as of 2019 there are over a half-million married gay couples in the USA. Since it takes two to tango, that means over a million gays have married since it was legalized. And even that might be larger given the holes in Census counting! I sometimes think that if gay marriage had been possible 40 years ago, my life might have been quite different. As it was, when it came about I was too set in my ways to change. I have no regrets though, as I have always played the cards I was dealt As well as I could.

Although the title of the article used the term "gay," the statistics are actually for "same-sex" marriages, and more than half of the total are female couples. They also counted only couples who were living together in the same household.
