I'll be there if I can and it's safe to travel to the US. I'm not confident in either of those just yet. There isn't even a target date for opening our borders yet, and the talk is that when they do open, we'll be subject to 14 days' quarantine on return.

Well I've purchased my ticket to fly back to Oliver's in order to accompany him on his journey to Palm Springs from the Mid-West. I've decided to fly first class as the seats are further apart and I assume the airlines will be more helpful to someone with a first class ticket IF there are any problems. Hopefully this year will be a go and there will be a vaccine available around the first of the year.

I will shortly begin to revise last years menu with some new additions. I sincerely look forward to seeing you all in April.

In a nutshell, members of the forum and various escorts get together for a meet and greet, breakfast/lunch/dinners, and a pool party in Palm Springs. People go to be with like minded men to have some camaraderie and enjoy whatever may happen. I think it usually happens the same weekend of Coachella.

 

There is also a version of the gathering held in DC during the MAL convention/showcase on MLK weekend. Although, I don't the DC version attracts as many revelers.

Distinguished Forum Member Oliver rents a home in Palms Springs for a couple of months in the early part of the year. Over the years, he has hosted a pool party and invited readers of this Forum to attend. This is Oliver's event and not an event sponsored by this Forum, although the moderators graciously have seen fit to pin this message at the top of The Lounge. This is an event attended by both clients and providers.

 

The events for the weekend typically include two primary scheduled events: a dinner on Saturday at a Palm Springs restaurant and a Sunday afternoon pool party. Although many attend both events, there are those that are unable to attend both and attend only one. Recently, dinner on Sunday evening at another local restaurant has been added, although it tends to be attended by fewer individuals, as many want some time to unwind after a day in the sun.

 

For those not local to Palm Springs, many choose to stay at one of the gay resorts in town. Also, many posters choose to gather for in smaller groups for drinks, other meals, or exercise.

I don't know of DTW specifically, but I know there are individuals that have attended from CMH, ATL, DCA, and MSP. In other words, it isn't attended only by guys from the west coast.

this thread will grow to many pages by early February, 2021, when host Oliver will make a general announcement here in the forum of the event with instructions on how to "register"......

 

the weekend is very casual and friendly.....everybody is eager to meet and put a face to a username.....as said above, many forum members will stay at one of a few gay-oriented hotels in the Warm Sands neighborhood of Palm Springs (some are clothing-optional, but none are nudity-required)....there are a couple other less expensive options, like the somewhat-popular, but less luxurious, clothing-optional Canyon Club, very near downtown......be warned that because nearly every weekend in the spring season is popular with various events in the Palm Springs/Coachella Valley area, accommodations will be very expensive....I believe the downtown Motel 6 was about as much as $150/night in recent years, though the Canyon Club might be even less......
