Have you hired since March?

I know some forum posters have had massages (and extras) since the Coronavirus changed everything.

 

I'm wondering: of those who have hired masseurs, has anyone gotten (Covid) sick? And, if so, would you trace it to that encounter?

I've hired twice, will be for a third time on Thursday. The first was with my regular on 6/30 & primarily therapeutic. my state was beginning to reopen so, I thought it was safe. My second time was two weeks later, had no symptoms. This time with a new local guy, more sensual/erotic. Still no symptoms. Sort of nervous about this third time. He's a traveler, I met with once before covid & wanted to again if he came to town. Now he's back. ??‍♂️

Without its consultation, I have had to rely on my gut. It said no in March, and will probably continue to say no through early fall at least.

I’m amazed of the money I’m saving. No restaurants, no masseurs, no escorts, no dance classes, no clubs... I’ll be able to have a down payment for a house soon ?

 

I’ve done a lot of hiking, biking, taken several online courses, etc.

You've had a good track record. Please don't spoil it. This guy is risky. You say he is a traveler. Where has he been in the past 2 weeks? Is he coming from a hot bed state? Who has he been seeing? Is he taking any precautions when performing the massage? You must ask these questions. You are paying and want to have a good time without worries. Think of yourself. Don't hesitate to get all the facts before mounting his table. . . Or bed if he is traveling.

My last massage was March 7th. One of my favorites is in DC now from California. I thought about it for 2 seconds and declined, especially with DC's numbers on the upswing. I can and will wait.

No massages since late February, and since I’m not a fan of Russian Roulette, I’m not planning on any in the near future. I miss them terribly, but as others have said, won’t put my loved ones at risk. Stay safe, friends.

I ventured for a therapeutic massage two weeks ago. I decided to use one spa where I know the owner and confident that the spa is clean and every precaution is taken. I'm returning tmr and then I will likely wait for a month. During this time, I will likely not consider starting with someone new.

Then we're both in the same camp. I will say and did prevously post that I had a massage at the end of June with one of my regular private masseurs. I kept in touch with him through lockdown and we were both living similar boring lifestyles. I had planned a day in Manhattan since working from home and asked if I could include a massage. He was reluctant but then agreed to take his massage table out for me. We both wore masks except when I was face down. He was always meticulous with cleanliness using zip off washable covers for the headrest. He didn't even want me to talk. OK a bit much but I respected his wishes. I savored the moment and enjoyed it. I don't think he's even back up and running yet. To me, he was a safe bet but I remain mindful.

It may never be completely safe to get a massage or have sex with anybody. Getting the disease or a vaccine results in antibodies. If the antibodies only last three months, well, you have three months to play, but the three months isn't guaranteed, as I understand it. It could be more, it could be less. Although I don't intend to take the risk, in other circumstances, perhaps if I were young again, I would play it as safely as I could and go for it.
