I rarely use a condom for oral, unless the escort asks that I or him use one. I understand there is a risk. But I just don't think the risk is enough to take away from the pleasure of both giving and receiving oral sex.

While I have read many commentaries against the use of condoms for oral sex siting the reduction of stimulation, I have used condoms for oral sex, giving and receiving, and I did feel a measure of medical security comfort from it. I also did not experience any noticeable lacking in my enjoyment (which could be attributed to the skill of the provider). And to your second question, yes, on those occasions without the use of condoms I have worried about catching STI's. Now that I'm past my engaging escort years, and am no longer "tempting" for masseurs, those worries are behind me.

It is a perfectly valid question - not sure why you would think it is "non sense". Your example of a popsicle is not really accurate - a dick does not "melt in the mouth"; and thank god for that! Not so long ago, before the days of PREP it was quite common for companions to request condoms for oral sex (@4crazyhorse is in his 40s according to his profile - I am sure he remembers it well). There are still companions that insist on this - your can certainly decide to avoid them. We should all be concerned about STI's - a 2018 CDC report indicated that they are on the rise (no pun intended).

To your question @4crazyhorse yes, I have used a condom before for oral sex. I do agree with @orville that you should do research to understand which STI can be transmitted through oral, anal or skin contact and ask the escort/masseur about their status.

Oral without a condom is one of those things most of us, myself included, tell ourselves is ok but, given the prevalence of antibiotic resistant gonorrhea and chlamydia, certainly is not. And so the next best alternative is to get tested, regularly.

I don’t think this is limited to providers. You could pick something up from your grinder hookup. At the end of the day it’s a personal preference I am happy to use a condom for my own peace of mind. If others chose not to I don’t judge as it’s their prerogative to take on the risk of an activity they enjoy...

That's exactly my point. There is a number of STIs that can be blocked with Condom and PrEP, while other group of STIs you will get even with a condom on. I'm going to say that the fear of the OP it's based on the fact that providers might have a higher number of sexual partners. I was proposing that perhaps Grindr or Tinder are "safer?" but now that you mention the hookups on Grinder, who knows if guys there have more sexual partners than an escort since there is no price to pay? It's basically free and everyone against everyone. I'm probably somewhat irritated by the question because for a devoted cocksucker like me, a bj with condom it's a no-no.

The working pros I know keep themselves fit, healthy and test regularly.

For oral sex never... but for anal sex always. PrEP has certainly changed things and it took me a few years to man up and even consider having BB sex.

With PrEP, I’m fine with bareback sex. In many cases the provider is on PrEP also, which is an added comfort. I’ve always performed and received oral without a condom. I’ve never had a provider suggest or request a condom. I never think about STIs which is my error and has bitten me once.

And actually escorts are often more honest/accessible as well. One escort I was with let me know that he tested positive for chamydia when he got home and did his regular tests. He was very forthcoming with the details of where the infection occurred, how many partners he had before and after me and all that so I could make sure I was tested properly. He even checked up with me a couple days later to see how my tests came back. The reality is that a regular escort that you've built a good relationship with often cares more about his client's health than some random Grindr hookup.

I always ask if an escort requires a condom for oral sex beforehand. Because I had a couple of bad experiences when I had paid up front, and then the escort says he only does oral with a condom. Total dealbreaker.

Ive been with several guys who only do oral sex with a condom. Although it is not ideal, it is better than nothing. I certainly can understand that some guys just don’t want to take the risk.
