The other day got a text message from a 22 yr old wanting to make an appt. Said he was poz and lived on cap hill. I agreed to the appt which was set for June when im out there. Today I get another text from another 22 yr old poz wanting an appt. Too fish. I blocked both numbers. One number is an Az area code and the other is from Missouri. Ive been doing this too long not to smell shit a mile down the road.

Hugs,

Greg

Hey, I don’t know anything, really. Certainly less than your spidysense. But, firstly, with cellphones you can no longer tell with accuracy from where a call is coming. I purchased my cellphone when I lived in Long Beach, Ca (562). Since them, I’ve lived in SF, SJ, and now Palm Springs with the same cell number. Perhaps they are friends In a new locale who are both positive and were concerned they wouldn’t find a provider that would take them. ...”You call first! No, you call first!”...

Or, you could be absolutely right!

I don't distrust your sixth sense but let's consider most gay men live in Capitol Hill. I know it's unusual for a 22 y/o guy to pay for sex because they can usually get it for free but some frequent posters started hiring when they were in their 20's... I wouldn't have blocked them but I would have suggested they come to your hotel or they uber you to their place to make sure at least one of them is a serious client.

While I normally agree with you, Marylander, and ALWAYS appreciate your kindness and decency with your answers, I disagree with the highlighted portion. As a youth, whether I could have gotten sex on my own or not, due to my body and performance insecurities, I would never engage. It was far easier to meet with a provider. Oh, to go back in time.

Grindr and all the other on-line choices would have probably made a big difference for you - a different time I expect …

Most likely the OP is right about them being the same person. Similar things have happened to me.

The actions tho are typical of providers over reacting and jumping to conclusions. I would have asked "hey did we talk earlier? From your description you sound like someone I already talked to and set an appointment with"

I would try and confirm first, or if for certain based off exact wording and punctuation, cancel the appointment with the first for obvious game playing.

Maybe it's just me, but with game playing inquiries I like to call them out so they don't flood my phone with another number, then another...

I just don't have time for Tom foolery. To get two 22 yr olds from two different numbers saying they're poz is too fishy. It doesn't sound right. And whats one of the top rules be it provider or client, always follow your gut. I've had young clients in the past and haven't had issues but this time it's not settling in my tummy right. I've done right over the years and I'm not going to potentially jeopardize what I've worked so hard for. Like it or me or not I dont give a fuck I'm just letting others know just incase.

Hugs,

Greg

I’m in my early 30s, been hiring since I was 20. I’ve tried hooking up on Craigslist when it use to have the adult pages, and online, but the free guys are not nearly as attractive/hot as the professional escorts. Which is why I hire. If you’re young and horny why go through the screening process of exchanging stats and pics to find a mediocre online hookup, when you can pay an escort for a hotter experience?

I wonder how many 22 yr olds can afford to live in an expensive gay urban neighborhood and hire escorts. When I was that age I had to nurse one beer through an evening at a bar.

Good point but let's also remember now we have ways to pay that don't include cash (Venmo, PayPal, etc.) maybe they're behaving like older Americans and using their CC.

I also wonder how many 22 y/o are HIV positive considering we had condoms first and PrEP later for their entire adult life. Also... why would someone contact an escort and share his status?

In Greg’s case, he has openly advertised as an HIV poz escort for many years.....I assume prospective clients who share the same status with Greg are presenting themselves as having something in common & are thinking that their shared status makes meeting up with each other kind of “sensible”....(wrong word ?)

When I was 22, I wasn't wealthy, but I had a useful college diploma and an apartment to myself, which is more than could be said of many other young gay men in the area. I got hit on by hot guys who wouldn't normally give me the time of day, but needed somewhere to crash, as well as by some of the lower-class escorts.

I never took advantage of having a live-in. It seemed tasteless, I was dating, and would have lowered the community's opinion of me. But it would have given me a free outlet for the fetishes my boyfriends couldn't provide. I regret that now.
