In this time of self quarantine and social distancing, we all seem to have time on our hands and a lot of us have been around more than a year or two. Before the internet being all that it is today, there was Man to Man and Dave. Who remembers Dave, and who did you hire from him. What happened to dave.Let's reminisce a bit to simpler times and entertain ourselves just a bit.

I didn't know Dave, but I remember an agency in Detroit that came to know me well, and to know the type of guys I liked. (From gallery posting likes, I've come to realize that @Trebor and I have very similar tastes.) I remember some fun discussions of who they had and whether they thought I'd like them. I think they shut down sometime in the mid-2000s.

It’s been a long time since I’ve spoken with Dave. He was feeling the difference in his business as internet hiring was taking over. He told me he was transitioning to another business, he wasn’t specific.

All the hires I did through him were top drawer, and and his agency rates weren’t that far off non-agency independent’s rates. He filled a need for a certain sort of gentleman.

I hired several guys from Dave. Most were good. One or two were a complete disaster-one I had brought to Puerto Rico for a weekend. I was there on business and had the guy travel to me after my business was finished. Well he got there and was standoffish a bit the first night. I attributed it to being tired. But the second day he said, "I can't do this. ". I flew him back to the mainland early and felt like cr-p. It was I'll admit probably partially my fault. I won't go into why. On the other hand, Dave dropped him a relatively short time later as I wasn't the only person he refused to interact with. I can't remember about the fee. I think the guy was honest enough to give it back to me.

But to talk about good guys I saw-there was a guy from Austria who went by Dirk. I saw him 3 or 4 times. He was an incredibly friendly guy. I also saw Matthew Miller who now lives in the UK-but that was after Dave quit representing him.

Premier just gave up the fort a few years ago. I met a few guys thru them. Once I was at a conference in Baltimore. I was staying at a B and B. I believe it was in the Federal Hill District. There had been a guy I had been looking at on the Premier website for a while-a tall athletic to normal physique with a cute face. He met me at the B and B late one night. I think he lived in New Jersey. He told me he was a chef at a restaurant. It took him about two hours to get there. We spent a nice two hours together.

During the last 5 to 10 years, their guys gravitated more to the more twinky side of the spectrum. And if they did have a more athletic/muscular guy he was invariably a top. So I didn't find as many of their guys as interesting in their latter years.

I remember Premier. They did have a lot of good looking guys and some just regular. They also had visiting guest stars...

Not too many "guest stars" in their last few years.

For a while back around 2000, Premier had a competitor for several years called Paramount Escorts. But I don't think they lasted even 5 years.

I also used Premier back in the 80s and 90s, when they were in a couple of different houses in Center City, because they were more efficient and reliable than freelancers in Philadelphia. I tried Paramount a couple of times, but their guys were always in South Philly and much less dependable. In other cities I preferred independent escorts.

Chelsea Boys (or was it “Guys” ?) in NYC.....I was only hiring 1 special stud, errrr gentlemen from their “stable” - Christopher....handsome guy, blond, 6’5” / 230 lbs....all top.....eventually he started running his own Rentboy advert....eventually he moved away from NYC to Atlanta, where he advertised for a short while before leaving the scene....( his age by then = late 30s)....he was a steady regular for my NYC trips for about 3 years.

I believe I remember him-blondish hair. In some of his ads didn't he have a leather harness on? If I'm thinking of the right guy, are you sure he wasn't versatile? I thought I had considered hiring him. But I don't hire strict tops. On the other hand I used to do a lot of window shopping, so maybe he was a top I thought was attractive enough to keep looking at although I would have never hired him.

I remember Christopher from his Rentboy days. From the first time I saw his ad about 12 years ago, he always listed as versatile.

My first hire was through Premier.

I was in town on business, very young, and incredibly nervous.

I’ll never forget how sweet the guy who answered the phone was.

I was an obvious newbie wreck. In the end he said, “just show up

and we’ll take care of the rest. We’re professionals”

How right he was. I used them for years whenever I was in Philly

and never once had a bad hire. Thanks Premier!

I dealt with Dave from mantomanescorts beginning in about 2010.....had several successful meets through his help and he was always very honest in helping to find guys who I'd like, knowing my preferences.....and he'd steer me away from ones he knew I wouldn't like......a couple or three of the guys I met had been on Sean Cody and another was an ex-Marine/current fireman-paramedic........

he had trouble finding reliable providers later on and eventually phased out the website portion of his business......regulars continued to receive emails, but even that ended by about 2015 or so.......I took him to breakfast a few times near his place in the Coachella Valley and we had great chat about various topics......last I heard, he had another full-time job and seemed to be moving toward a quiet, easy retirement.......

the now-resurrected Jeremy Walker thread reminded me that Dave represented him for a while and the two of them, Dave told me, had met in the Palm Springs area at times for a meal and talk.....I think (?) Dave did mention to me Jeremy's concern with a few difficult clients, as was suggested in that Jeremy Walker thread.....

Maximum was the only agency I used when I didn't hire directly. Met some of my best hires from Steven.

Although I never hired through Maximum, I saw quite a few guys who branched out on their own from the site. One of the guys I still see but not in an escorting capacity. He went on to escort on RB for a bit. That's where I contacted him. We hit it off immediately and are very close to this day.

The other had left the site and I asked Maximum's owner if he still could be contacted. I can't recall what the escort went by on the site but the working guy told me his name was Antonio. The dude was horrible at keeping schedules lol!.... but he was so damned good-looking (and he knew it), sexy ass voice, beautiful body (from head to toe) big dick and an amazing oralist & bottom. The sex was just outstanding. Sadly he vanished. He is one of the guys I still pine for. ;):p

He did do some porn for dawgpoundusa & papithugz under the moniker Cristobol. So besides my memory of our times together, I can still get off watching his vids.

No. Jeremy Walker picked fights with several Man to Man clients over money. On a $400 meet, Dave's cut was $150. Walker tried to get more from these clients. There was a posting on Muscle Service about this, and Dave actually stopped working with Walker at one time because of this. Dave even sent an email to Walker's clients explaining that he could no longer work with Walker. When times got tough, Dave tried to rep Walker again, but quit soon after he found out that Walker's been a felon since 2003.

Premier also provided a high number of memorable experiences for me. I will never forget Danny--friendly, handsome, terrifically talented in bed. I loved having his head on my shoulder as we lay on the bed, watching tv. There were several others whom I saw only once or twice; they were also enjoyable, but I always wanted Danny after our first time.

I remember fondly Justin, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Luis from Campus in NY, and Brent from Premiere in Philadelphia. Lots of fun!

Wow, if sheets could talk ? I met all those boys too, and so many more from Campus, like Steve, or Jesse... ? Many from Premier as well. Brent was a true jewel, whom I saw many, many times. Oh, the memories.

Let's get your sheets and my sheets together then. They'll have a field day talking. :)

I often wonder how those guys are today. Especially Brent.

I am sure they would have a lot of fun.

I think about the boys quite often myself, and it is scary to realize that those meetings happened roughly 20 years ago. Gorgeous, twinky Brent must be in his late forties today, probably raising his teenage, or more likely even college-age children. It is definitely creepy. I prefer to remember him the way he was.
