I'm for option 3.

 

I am usually rather nervous and definitely inexperienced, so this problem crops up quite often. Here are a few thoughts, for what they are worth to you:

 

For me, it is crucial that the escort come across as relaxed, friendly and positive, which may require SOME measure of diplomatic dissimulation. That's why getting off on the right foot is essential, and that begins with first contact, which is usually by email or telephone. If I have to try TOO hard to set up a meeting, then things turn sour from the outset. Unanswered queries are often the first bad sign, yet surprisingly common in this field. I think that many escorts unestimate how important such first impressions are.

 

The key to option 3 is HOW the escort offers advice. For me, the best way would be in the form of a suggestion, which blunts the force of advice that might otherwise sound like a criticism to a nervous and inexperienced client.

 

If the escort were more forthcoming about what HE likes, then the client (who may lack the escort's sensitivity to such things) would be in a better position to make it a mutually pleasurable experience. Knowing that the escort is enjoying himself (to the extent that this is possible under such circumstances) would actually help ME enjoy it more. Often, I just don't know what to do, and am too reticent to try something spontaneously. A hint or suggestion from the escort would often be most welcome.

 

A final word: It is apparent to me that escorting is a VERY tough job. While the pay seems good, judging by the high fees, it could never be called "easy money". I have often been disappointed by what appears to me to be a lack of professionalism by many escorts on the business side of things. (Making and keeping appointments, for example, where standards are abysmally low.) But most of the escorts I have met have impressed me greatly with their professionalism "behind closed doors". Since meeting with escorts, I have come to appreciate that they are practitioners of a bone fide art, and some of them are masters of it!

Good point, but some escorts may be travelling with out he benefit of a note book with them. Getting to emails are then harder. It is however fair to expect a response in 24 - 36 hours. See the other thread on this.
