new subject, how was pride for everyone this year?

Vancouver jsut ahd their pride week and it was a great time had by all, including myself. I debauched and partied, showing my pride by consuming enormous amounts of liquor!

Question, I noticed when at one of the many parties, that all of the men dancing with their shirts off looked exactly the same, I even commented to a friend of mine that I kept losing him in the crowd of clones, is it just me or does it seem that as gay men we are all secretly striving for a big set of disco tits and a washboard stomach. Where is our individuality? I admit freely that I would kill for a bod like some of these guys, but then, would I not just become another gym clone mixed into the crowd?

Just a change of subject...talk amongst yourselves: )

Matt;

I friend of mine once suggested that we should change the rules because all of the shirtless party boys do look alike. (The electrolysis folks must have been busy.)

Any way, we should not let them take off their shirts, but rather they should keep their shirts on and take their pants off. That way it would be easier to tell them apart.

Hagen said "SEND IN THE CLONES!"

Well Rod, "DON'T BOTHER, THEY'RE HERE"

...and to stay too!

:-)

Also Matt, sometimes us muscle queens will rather have a a different body type than ours to play with. The more the merrier. Nice point you made though!

Well, that is sort of the crux of this whole thing, isn't it? It's not that clones of any type are bad per se, or that working out is a negative thing --- God knows I certainly workout almost nonstop, so I hope it's not a bad thing --- but the problem is that there has become one popularized ideal of male beauty which is so pervasive that it virtually shuts out any other possible type. And that is very, very dull indeed.

I say: let's celebrate the man who has a more natural kind of body --- healthy and fit, yes, but not hyper-real. I'm greatly heartened to see more and more of those 70's clones --- as opposed to those Chelsea clones --- walking around our streets, only because I think it means that a less Catalina-video kind of masculinity is resurfacing. And have you noticed? It seems even the Chelsea boys have been less judicious with their razors of late. And it's about damn time.

getting beat (off) by a live bear

Dearhearts,

While I have a tendency to agree with you, it is a bit surprising that we are having this conversation any more. There are full erotic magazines devoted to bears. Also little leather boys of all ages turn on to Daddies. And so do a lot of vanilla types. Variety of sexual types is already here - we don't need to ask for it to arrive! We just need to celebrate it more!
