Can't confirm but it sounds like they either want to trim demand or fish for a higher roller.

 

Maybe it's more that they gotta make hay while the sun shines. The season in South Florida is short, November to the end of March. After that, most of the moneyed class goes back to their northern abodes. Of course, FL has plenty of year-round residents, but those are working stiffs, not money-to-burn types.

 

Hopefully a South Florida native chimes in here to give us the scoop.

Yep... makes sense. when I’m there in the summer and fall the rates are a little more normal. Those who can afford to spend winters in SFla can also afford higher rates.
