The ad says the guy is "native American" and that he is age 22.

However, the photos are of a 28 year old Brazilian model.

Naughty boy for posting a fake ad, whoever the fraudster is.

22 vs. 28 I won't speak to, but the "Native American" ethnicity doesn't exclude Brazilian nationality. Throughout South America (and North America) there are Native Americans, Europeans, Africans and people of intermixed ethnicity. My nephew is 25% Native American and would consider himself Native, but not 100%. His maternal grandmother is pure Native American, maternal grandfather who was only briefly in the picture well before he was born is at least part African American, and his paternal grands were European whites. He was born in the states, but grew up his first 7 years on a reservation in Canada. All of this is to say that it's possible to both be Brazilian and Native American.

Still, y'know... crazy hot...

You mean the photos that are shown that were taken six years ago.

Google the model's name and see what he looks like now.

Even though he is only 28 he lost most of his muscle and no longer has the defined beauty as shown in the stolen photos for the ad.

I don't think the real guy in the photos cares what he looks like though, he has a net worth of more than fifty million dollars that he earned from modeling and being a movie and television actor in Brazil.

The real guy is not advertising on rentmen.

The real guy is Brazilian by birth. By country, his ancestors came from Italy. That is not Native American by any trick of the fake ad and stolen photos. I cannot imagine what the fake advertiser expected to accomplish by that false statement in his ad.

There are so many fake ads. More people should learn to search and find the fraudsters.

Do you guys bother to report the ad to rentmen?

Did you know you can be a good samaritan by reporting the ad to rentmen?

Your report would be a sure thing in getting the fake photos removed because the real person in the photos is a celebrity.

If you make a report, go to the fraudster's ad, click on reporting a false ad then

be sure to include the link I provided above. It has all the photos that the fraudster stole as his own for his bogus ad.

The link also proves that the real person in the photos is not age 22 and is a 28-year-old television/movie actor in Brazil.

If you send in the link with an explanation, rentmen will not cancel the ad. Rather, rentmen will remove the photos and suggest the fraudster put different photos in his ad. Remember, the fraudster no doubt paid for the ad and rentmen has his money. They cannot simply delete the bogus ad.

A slight problem will occur for the fraudster when he tries to use different photos. He will have to convince rentmen that the new photos are not fake by showng some sort of photo identification (which can be fake or fabricated).

Rentmen will probably allow him to post new photos even though the replacement photos could also be stolen.

I applaud your investigative work @coriolis888 - well done!

the real guy in the photos....has a net worth of more than fifty million dollars....earned from modeling and being a movie and television actor in Brazil.

But I cannot let this assertion go unchallenged. No male model has that much money; a male model only earns big money if he is the face/physique for a fragrance (I know 2 such models and each told me what they earned).

Similarly being a successful actor in Brazil means a middle-class life style but they are not highly paid by US or European standards. I have a good friend who works constantly as an actor on TV in Brazil - we’ve been on vacation in Europe together, and he certainly cannot afford business or first-class flights - and I also know 2 men who ‘starred’ in reality TV shows in Brazil; their pay was not great but it helped both become established as celebrity personal trainers.

FWIW my guess is that if he has been lucky in his jobs and saved wisely, Luca Viana might have amassed US $1million but certainly not “more than fifty million dollars”.

You've added some additional useful info about the "real" guy in the photos. I was commenting on a more limited set of facts -- namely that the ad says he's Native American and that the "real guy" is "Brazilian" (which is a nationality, not an ethnic or regional background).

Your more thorough info is quite helpful.

Thank you. I did just that. Scammers suck.

You did a great job.

Here it is less than one day and the stolen photos are already removed from the ad.

Also, some other data in his ad is changed.

It appears as if rentmen is still working on the bogus ad. When you click on the ad, the photos are gone but the rest of the ad freezes and much of the wording does not load.

Thanks for the good deed.

You have no idea how many clients you might have helped.

I did a little more review of information available for the person who had his photos "borrowed" for a bogus ad.

You are correct, he does not have a net worth of fifty million dollars. The article shows that over his career, he brought in GROSS revenue of fifty million dollars but, of course, taxes and agent fees and living expenses have consumed the major portion of that money.

However, based on an "updated" estimate, he supposedly has a net worth of two and one-half million dollars.

Good observation.

Those "net worth estimates" are never, ever correct. And always inflated. Just saying...

Take a look at his ad now.

There's one picture. Same ad text as before. Changed location to HI.

Take another look. The one photo that he used to replace the fake photos is now gone also.

I again commend the person who made the report and I also commend rentmen for acting so quickly in removing the fake photos from that fraudster's ad.

We probably should not assume that the "new" photos are those of the person placing the ad.

Buyer beware.

And I am happy that this inquiry became the occasion for all of us to be informed of the complaint process with rentmen.

It is time to notify rentmen again about this fake ad.

The fraudster placing the ad and who replaced stolen photos with different stolen photos gives rentmen a bad name. At least rentmen will remove the photos when they learn of the scam.

If you check the updated ad and the photos you will see the fraudster still claims to be age 22.

He has numerous photos included in the fake ad and at least one harmless photo in his bogus ad was taken when the real person was age 17 (the real person is now age 18).

Here is a link to the real model who lives in Barcelona, Spain, and whose photos he stole. As I wrote, the model is age 18, not 22. Look at the date of the article and you will see the model is now age eighteen although he was not at the time the article was written.

There is a narrative in the below link about the model/performer (again, check the date of the article):

So I don’t know how to post photos, but if I did, I’d triumphantly post a screen cap of the message I got from rentmen telling me that they removed the profile, and thanked me for the report!!! 1 catfish down, 745,207 to go!!! Your detective skills are amazing!

One has to wonder if the guy behind the ad is wacko or just plain dumb. Why use photos of celebrities whose photos are so easy to track?

EDIT - The ad is now gone -

WARNING - rentmen took down his ad but must allow the fraudster to advertise on their site because the fraudster paid for the advertisement and he upgraded to "gold" which makes it unlikely rentmen will merely delete his ad as it now is (deleted). The ad will come back with a new incarnation.

The fraudster will use his paid ad and change photos again and will pick a different screen name. Considering his initial ad said NYC, it is likely the new fake ad will appear in NYC. However, the fraudster used various cities for the ad that lasted unchallenged for several days- His last city used on the ad was San Francisco. Be vigilant.
