In another (side comment), Bilbo informs of a sting on 07/28 at Houston's prestigious Omni Hotel by cops faking to be escorts. Any more info on this?

 

Was this particular client being watched (seeing as he was a high profiler?)

 

I practically live in the darn hotel!! Should I be concerned?

Yes, I would say that you have reason to be concerned. Generally speaking, if you want to conduct illegal business transactions without being caught, conducting them in the same location over and over and over again is not a good idea.

NubianDream - Hoo has posted another wire's story about the bust on the news section of the site today, which tells more or at least different details than I posted you privately from Reuters. For instance, the escort involved was Black. And they still don't give the name of the ersatz escort agency. - Hope you don't start having possible clients not hiring you to go to the Omni outa fear for importing a handsome Black man to that address. - Have you figured out yet which agency is the police? I don't remember there being an agency, fairly new or not, in the newspapers, but then reading the listings has been a little depressing to me since I'm not there lately, and I may not have my ear to the ground. I do seem to remember that there was an agency on the internet sometime within this last year that was based in Houston and only had one escort working for them. If anyone feels he has this worked out, please tell all of us so that our friends will know who to not call and that the rest of us are as safe as ever.

I'd be concerned if for no other reason than the police are working one of your home grounds. Proximity always brings risk. This is not to imply that there is no risk at other hotels, but at least we know there is risk at the Omni. How long until the police decide to reverse the sting and play the client?

 

I'd be very careful with new clients at the Omni and elsewhere for now. I advise caution and the old 'your paying for my time only routine' and avoid explicit discussion of 'activities' until after the monetary discussion have been completed. Better yet, wait until you get them out of their clothes or kiss them or something along those lines. I am under the impression that cops won't go that far to make a bust -- but who knows I'm no expert. Which reminds me, why I am giving you advice, your much more knowledgable in this area that I am.

There is an important lesson here. This is an election year (and a MAJOR one, being a presidential year), with the result that

many localities will be conducting these kinds of operations against escorts, agencies, and the like during the summer and, especially, the fall, to show the voters that they are "tough" on

social and "moral" issues. What better time to do that than right before an election when the memory of these crack-downs will be fresh in voters' minds? This will probably only get worse in

particuarly right-wing hell-holes like Texas (why does anyone want to live in a place like that, to begin with?).

 

Note that this sting was "john"-focused--one of two approaches: go after the provider or go after the customer. This is serious and the lesson is: Clients: know your escorts--be skeptical of that "new" arrival or agency in town that just

started advertising. Escorts: know your clients! Stick to the established customers till the holiday season.

I some what agree with you, my line of work may not seem like a good idea to you and indeed a lot of people (which is why I am here, on these boards, where there happens to be a demand for escorts, where we are made to feel at home and not frowned upon). What intrigues me though is why are YOU here? particularly with the views you have? I have ignored your previous similar comments to other escorts. I would have thought you had minimum enough sense not to bring your brand of bigotry and malice my way.

 

Anyhow, to answer your comment, there are enough benefits to make the risk worth while. I should know.

A) Get off that darn preachers box. The "holy" shit does not sit well with us.

 

B)Learn some decorum, and while you are there, pick up some pointers on mutual respect.

Quinte, I don't care what you think of me or my opinions, I don't care whether you pay attention to or respond to them, and I don't need to follow any "rules" you make up. If you don't like being reminded that what you are doing is a crime, perhaps you shouldn't do it. I don't particularly care whether you are arrested, but I am one of only a couple of people who responded to your thread by giving you any practical advice. I know a bit about law enforcement and I know that the police always look for patterns. The greater the extent to which you follow a recognizable pattern in what you do, the more likely it is that they will eventually catch you. I looked and looked in CraigRC's post for any kind of rudeness or attitude, and couldn't find it. I am stumped as to the amount of bile which Quinte spews in his direction -- it really reads to me like craig was giving some direct and honest advice.

 

I'm always astonished when escorts make spectacles of themselves on these boards, when they have a business to take care of. It makes escorts in general seem like emotionally damaged man-children, and I know that isn't true in all, even most, cases.

Actually, Jake, I felt like Q might have overreacted a bit towards Craig. But then, not only had Q seen Craig's postings on other threads, but we must remember just how close to home this subject hit him. He was already probably somewhat tense and on edge about the subject and I wish that that had been taken into account by that other poster. But I also wish that his striped socks hadn't curled up so when you came down on him a bit hard only once.

This, of course, is not directed at NYMuscleBoy. I personally don't give a shit what Craigrc thinks of me. Believe it or not, I used to care about retards like him. But I now realize that he is just a miserable cretin who has made but one post on the entire board that did not contain derogatory, smug and self-righteous bullshit. That, as you might suspect, was when he was seeking information.
