In the news section of the site, Hooboy reported that an escort who is a friend of this site had been injured by a client. Hooboy arranged for a friend in the city where the escort was injured to take the escort to the hospital. The escort seems to have been badly shaken but not seriously injured.

I am concerned why the escort did not call the police or an ambulance for transportation to the hospital. Specifically, do escorts who are attacked by clients have reason to fear reporting the attack to the police? Are such attacks common? Were the police eventually contacted in this particular case?

In my experience, cops--at least big-city cops--are surprisingly sophisticated & non-judgmental about gay issues when a real crime is involved. They get called on all the time to settle 'domestics' between screaming 'roommates,' and seem take it all in stride. (Off. Provalone: "OK, this guy, Darryl, he's your partner, right? And he starts bustin' up your La-leek vases, right?") Of course, who knows what city this happened in, and, of course--the BIG difference--prostitution was involved here. But, I repeat, gayness per se isn't any big deal to most of these guys. (That's not to say they don't mutter 'Fuckin crazy fags!' among themselves, once back in the squad car. . .)

I think that some of their fear may arise from the fact that they are engaged in the escort business. Admitting it after one has been beaten isn't going to endear themselves to the cops. And even if they are sympathetic there is always the mentality that the escort put himself in danger by being an escort.

As a client when I hear of incidents like this I have no problem recommending that Hooboy set up a Client Warning area for escorts ( though it must be available for viewing by all ). This client deserves to be outed. There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to be treated like that.

If the escort doesn't press charges, I can understand, but I encourage him too. Sue the bastard also. Don't talk to him. Get a lawyer and do it. Make sure this assholes life isn't the same. All of life's actions has consequences. Make sure he knows the consequence of his.

To the client who helped the escort. BRAVO BRAVO. We have a hero in our midst.
