Las Vegas Conferences & Events with expected attendance >10,000.

Temperatures will quickly moderate as the city enters the fall season. This is a good time, climate wise, to visit. By mid-October a light jacket for evening adventures may be needed. The nearby ski area on Mount Charleston (about 45min drive) may have snow by early December.

Expect increased hotel rates on holiday weekends. Especially Veteran’s day, Thanksgiving and the weekend leading into New Year’s Eve. See my link to the New Year’s Eve here:

Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples when estimating hotel costs. Beware the hidden (but mandatory) “resort fees” added to your hotel bill.

Parking fees are now being charged at most Strip hotels. You probably don’t need a car if you stay on the Strip. Just walk. Use the monorail, RTC buses and the free trams that operate between some casinos. Uber, Lyft and taxis are available. The below link goes to the garages - but click the links on the left for info IRT other transportation info.

I’ve been doing this for about 3 years now. This is is likely my last. I'm getting older and it's time for new blood and perspective to take this project over. No, I'm not dying - although no one is guaranteed their next heart beat.

Just for perspective... locals were telling me that, due to backlash, parking fees are starting to disappear.

In May, I received an offer for free nights at Wynn. While booking, they told me that, starting in July, parking would once again be complimentary....for hotel guests. My LV family tell me other hotels scaling back paid parking policies too.

I just returned from three nights at Wynn. Valet parking was free. Resort fees were waived. Waived, not comp'd. No resort fee, you pay to connect to wifi in your room. $20 per day, per device. You pay to use the fitness center. I chose to pay the resort fee.. it was cheaper in the long run. But someone who needs no wifi and wont use the fitness center could save money if the offer includes waived resort fees. They get you one way or another... but at least there's an option to avoid paying for unused amenities.

For perspective, I am not much of a player. I earned less than $15 in free play over 3 days at Wynn - that should provide some perspective on my level of play for those who understand the players' clubs. Yet I arrived home to find two different mailers for free suites at Venetian (I'd only walked through there once when they mailed them,) and emails from MGM about free nights at any property ... select dates through the end of the year. I don't share this to boast, but as info.... they must really be hurting to send all of these offers to an inconsequential player like me. I understand they're giving away unsold room inventory... I guess they've calculated that the chance for any incremental revenue .... shows, meals, etc... is worth it.

I know that some of my offers originated by Vegas properties buying lists from CA casinos. They manage some tribal properties. I wonder if they target California due to abundance of local casinos, and the understanding its inexpensive and easy for us to drive/fly to LV.

The point... look around. There are deals to be had.
