Bringing guests to my hotel room in Mexico City?

Hi guys,

I am planning a trip to Mexico City later this month. I will probably stay in an international chain hotel in or near the Zona Rosa. Will I have any trouble bringing working boys back to my room? It seems like they monitored the elevators pretty closely the last time I was there (although I did not try to bring any gentleman callers to my room on that trip).

Thanks,

Ichabod

While I can't speak to Mexico City specifically, it's usually not an issue so long as you're a registered guest. Just make sure you have your room key if you are personally bringing them up.

If they are coming to your hotel room, they can always ask the front desk to ring you in your room, and you ask the front desk to send them up. You could even go so far as let the desk know that you're expecting a friend/guest to visit you while you are in your room.

Hotels usually don't make any kind of big deal about guests having an extra person in the room for an hour or two....the only time I can think of when they usually care is if they charge extra if you have more than 1 person in the room overnight.

And if the hotel gives you grief....well, you know not to stay there again.

I stayed at the Room Mate Valentina hotel on Amberes (where there are several gay bars). I requested a room on a high floor after reading online about how noisy the street can be at night (with all the clubs), and that worked out well. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful, and they did not hassle me about bringing guys up to my room.

I had a good time at BB Show Bar on my second visit, when I hired Adriano (great escort/masseur - review submitted) to translate for me. I had gone on my own earlier in the trip; I don't speak Spanish, and that made it too hard to chat or negotiate private dances with the strippers. Adriano was a great translator and go-between, as well as good company.

I hired several guys while I was there, all from either mileroticos.com or rentmen. Prices seemed to range between US$75 and US$150; I think you could negotiate lower prices, probably. I had 3 really good experiences, one so-so (but that one was a combination of language barrier and me not having been clear in advance about what I wanted).

I love Mexico City. The metro is really easy to use, there are great museums, good gay scene, and it's so cheap. Can't wait to go back.

I was in Mexico in 1972 and 1974. A long time ago. I recall walking in along the street in Mexico City and young men embracing me and saying “amigo” and frisking me. I was lying on the beach in Acapulco and a guy coming up and started talking to me. I developed a sixth sense and turned around and his mate had come from behind and was running away with my shorts. As soon as he saw me he dropped them.

The Mexicans would be some of the most rapacious people I have ever encountered. Totally spoilt by Americans and see foreigners as people to be ripped off. In Acapulco in those days working boys were certainly not allowed in hotels.I might add that these days, from articles I have read, it is right in the middle of the drug scene and is literally a war zone, a massive change from the 70’s when it was a playground for the rich and fatuous. I believe crime is a major factor all over Mexico and I would not care to stay at a hotel crawling with rent boys.

Ive heard nothing but good things about Mexico City and PV. You are very angry today Sydneyboy.
I am not angry. I'm a great believer in keeping discussions on these message forums civil. My comments are greatly influenced by a major article in "The Sydney Morning Herald'' about 2 years ago about the crime problem in Mexico in particular Acapulco which as I said earlier is now the centre of drug wars. Its a great pity because Acapulco was a beautiful beach resort and I enjoyed my 2 visits.

PS I remember an occasion when I under tipped a waiter in a quality hotel restaurant in Mexico City. He expressed his displeasure in no uncertain terms.

I agree and everything that has happened has been for the worse, particularly Acapulco.

I think a lot can happen in 46 yrs.

This article about the dangers in Mexico is not 46 years old, how about last month?

https://www.news.com.au/travel/world-travel/north-america/what-its-really-like-in-mexico-city-considered-one-of-the-worlds-scariest/news-story/0f4a39530b515f7af436e735671be8be

Plus this Forbes article of earlier this year:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/garystoller/2018/02/21/mexico-where-more-americans-are-murdered-than-in-all-other-countries-combined/#4ce4cb54de37

Mexico is wonderful if you can enjoy the place without falling prey to the countless documented dangers.

It might take some hens 24 hours to get from Austin to Mexico City but it only takes a commercial airplane two hours, twenty-five minutes - see below:

1 flight per day, 2h 25m duration

Austin, TX (AUS) to Mexico City, Mexico (MEX)

Search flight prices on Google

1:35 pm

4:00 pm

Aeromexico 2687

The flight is convenient if one is willing to risk the dangers reported.
