  1. So my experience was about the same. Ads got flagged and I had to play with wording, eventually I got it right, and I got dozens of responses too, it has way more people watching then CL did, probably because people learned what they were missing. Unfortunately though, only 1 person made an appointment, everyone else just kind of wanted to fuck around through email and have email erotica descriptions of things rather than meet or schedule. Still, even 1 appointment means people are using it, it’s just deciding if it’s worth spending hours talking to people who have no intention in anything other than the fantasy of hiring and not the reality. I think I’ll give it a few weeks and try again once all the window shoppers die down and only the people actually looking are using it. I’ll have to check out bedpage now, I didn’t know about that one.
  2. So far all I’ve found is doublelist.com, but I have not actually contacted anyone from there or posted an ad myself, so the legitimacy is still to be decided. But it looks like it has potential and the ads reflect “the good old days” on CL and BP, so I’m currently watching it hopefully, just be careful and CYA if you do decide to try it. I’ll try to verify if it’s legit here today by posting an ad and seeing the fakes and flakes vs legitimate contacts. I’ll update when I get some bites to let everyone know my experience.
  3. It’s kind of my specialty, but unfortunately I’m on the opposite side of the country from LA. If you ever find yourself in Orlando or this coast in general let me know, whatever you have in mind I’m sure we can make it happen.
  4. For my legitimate massage, absolutely essential and puts it almost on autopilot so I can put my time and energy into fancier massage types and escorting. For the special massages and escorting though, noooooo, that gives you the bad kind of visibility and it does put emphasis on the transaction aspect. I schedule those personally through text or call.
  5. Definitely can see that. No spas here do stomach, glutes or inner thighs either, so I’m with you and I charge approx what they do but with to your door (or incall) service that includes all the areas spas miss, so they can’t compete and the Disney Tourists who are planning on paying the crazy resort prices anyway, are happy to pay for room service massage that hits all the spots for less than what the resort spa would charge. I think I mentioned “for your area,” I know the price difference between BFE and NYC is pretty drastic, I’m in Orlando so I was using examples from my area, so your prices may vary drastically either way above or way below. Just suggesting a new masseur takes location into account and fairness for the area, $150 for strictly therapeutic in Disney Orlando is more than fair and less than most spas, you could probably do $200 if you wanted to, but I don’t want to be the guy who nickel and dimes people, so it’s a halfway point. $150 to local orlando is a little excessive and I’ve seen new masseurs as low as $65 (which is a red flag to me to be so low compared to the standard), so I do $100 an hour for outcall therapeutic outside of Disney to take locals and travelers not on a saved vacation budget into account, to this day though the resorts always glare at me walking my table through the hotel haha. I still see people come out of nowhere trying $250+ for an hour therapeutic, then they disappear a month or so in and I’m sure they wonder why, it’s not a get rich quick scheme but building relationships with clients over time, lots of communication, marketing, keeping your client base happy while always taking new ones. I feel like some new people see the rates and think they will be making 6 figures in a week and don’t realize that for every hour actually spent working there are probably 4 or more hours communicating, marketing, advertising, and scheduling for future appointments, so your 10 hour workday varies, dead days you get 1 paid hour out of it, busier days (Wednesday oddly enough blows up here aside from the obvious Friday and weekends) you might get paid for 8 hours and then adding travel and such it’s a loooong 12 hour day. That’s another good one for new masseurs: Be realistic with your expectations, some weeks you will be completely booked out to the point you skip meals and stay up late to fit everyone in, some weeks you will only have your regulars, and it takes time to build those regulars, so don’t expect overnight success, you need a wide skill set outside of the massage itself to make it work. In the beginning you might have half a week between appointments once the “fresh meat” phase wears off unless you have built up to having those regulars.
  6. That’s very different and a professional way to handle things. I mean more the clock watchers and the checking texts for 5 minutes several times during the massage without warning. If something is going on or you are expecting an important message, always be upfront and ask, clients will surprise you with how understanding they can be
  7. Everyone here has really nailed it from both the client and the masseur side. I wish I knew about this forum when I first started, would have saved me a lot of meh experiences. As a masseur/scort my advice would be(sorry for repeats, I feel they are important enough to read again): -DO go with your gut, if you get a bad feeling through a call, imagine the feeling you’ll get when you knock on the door, instinct is usually right and although it only happened once, I had to leave a service halfway into it, and that’s me, and I’m an “anything goes” fetish friendly experience, so imagine the amount of creep it takes to make me walk out the door. -DO get a professional scheduling app(online scheduling if you can) to keep track of appointments, even better if clients can see your schedule and book their own appointments. -DO be open minded. Even if you want to be 100% legit and therapeutic, clients make requests constantly, always consider them and their comfort, I have done strictly therapeutic massages nude because I have clients that are more comfortable not being the only one naked in the room. There is nothing wrong or illegal about 2 adults being nude in a room together, you can relax some and still be a legit professional. -DO NOT take appointments that you can’t keep. When you start out you are fresh meat and you’ll get a sudden influx of appointments, don’t let it go to your head, you are being tested, do well and word will spread. -DO NOT use your phone during appointments! I have an iPhone and I turn on driving mode and set up an auto reply that states I’m in an appt and will get back immediately after, that way people know I’m busy, not ignoring them, and clients don’t have a therapist hovering over his phone. -BIOTONE period. Coconut oil is a good 2nd Incase they prefer oil. Lastly, be fair, charge the standard rate in your area FOR THE SERVICES OFFERED, don’t charge $150 an hour for a therapeutic, at the same time don’t lowball yourself, don’t charge $50 an hour for erotic(or people will think you are either terrible at it or desperate). Price takes practice and fine tuning, you’ll find what is both fair to clients and gets you enough appointments to pay your bills. It’s all about the regulars. They are loyal, they deserve more, go with a regular over a new guy if you have to pick one, and I ALWAYS give my regulars free upgrades. Over deliver consistently. Sorry it’s so long, TLDR Don’t get cocky, treat your regulars with the respect they deserve, be creative and be ready for some situations you didn’t prepare for.
  8. Why thank you I’m undergoing “rebranding” due to all the craziness lately, so my ads are down for the moment, I have a site under construction http://damienblack.onuniverse.com/. I’m thinking of getting www.whoisdamienblack.com as the domain when it’s set, relying on regulars until I can find a good way to advertise. Don’t want to hijack the thread, but I should probably start one on BDSM Consulting and seeing if that’s a good way to go to be “invisibly visible.”
  9. My clients usually just throw their clothes off as quickly as possible like MichBoyBlake’s experience, and so I follow suit. But I am now definitely going to consider adding an undressing ritual for sensual. Sounds like a great way to heat things up. If I started one I’d probably do away with the shirts first then go for a strong embrace. Maybe then while still embracing the pants start unbuttoning and slide down. Depending on the client maybe take the underwear off with teeth, or something like that haha.
  10. Ooo this will be a good one. Generally I claim the straight end of the spectrum as far as therapeutic massages go, for my legit massages if I’m “straight” it helps make it less confusing what people are getting if that makes sense? Expectations match reality. It’s a therapeutic massage so my orientation isn’t a dealbreaker and since I massage 99% men, it draws the line at therapeutic *unless* during the course of the massage we get talking and they let me know certain things they would like, and we can change the course of the massage. If I’m giving a sensual/erotic massage, or providing companionship, then I can show my true colors and let people know I love the person inside, not the body parts. I don’t really stand by a label so idk if it’s bi or pans, but I like men and women depending on the personalities, I just like to make people happy, and whoever the client is I enjoy it, and if I’m into it they usually enjoy it more. I just say I’m bi if they ask so they know everything is on the table for more. Idk how other masseurs separate clients, but that’s one method I use to keep legit and play separated.
  11. 100% Agree. Can’t believe I didn’t mention it in my first reply, but NEVER get into restraints unless you have quality references you can trust recommending the provider, or have seen then before and established mutual trust. It may be very difficult to find someone not only comfortable with domming, but who you also trust. That being said LA is a huge and wonderful city with at least 2 of everything you can imagine, and at least 1 of most things you wouldn’t want to imagine haha. I always recommend trying the things you wouldn’t want to imagine first This might sound kind of silly, but if you want to cover your ass with a first time meet being bondage related, put ALL your valuables (wallet, even payment for the session) in a hotel safe so you KNOW you will have to be untied to pay before they leave. I still would recommend Pensant’s advice and only get into bondage with someone I know, or was recommended to me by this board, or another provider/client, but realistically if you are traveling and can’t find a recommendation and jump, it might save you a possible bad situation turning worse. If you want more specific advice about the scenario you have in mind feel free to DM and I can possibly make some recommendations that would make it easier to pull off, and if anyone is ever in Orlando and wishing to check out some BDSM as either a sub or a dom, let me know, kinda my specialty teehee
  12. Sounds like he got scared. Was he new? If he’s been working for a while he has no excuse and that’s a quick way to tank your reputation, the escorting world is smaller than people think, and word travels fast.
  13. For a guaranteed legit massage, ask if they are licensed or certified, you can even get the license number and look up if it’s valid and what styles they are trained in. Usually the guys asking $250+ for an hour massage will give you a glorified back rub, and it’s more about the extra elements. If the price is more reasonable it’s probably only a therapeutic massage, but that means it’s probably a decent one. Harder to find are the people that do both
  14. As a provider into the BDSM scene, I usually appreciate honest and upfront requests. If you’d like to do it without a “paper trail” of details, ask if you can call to discuss. I’d do a bit of research first to see if they have kink as an interest or if they have any background, you don’t want a newbie domming you, it can actually get dangerous depending on what you want. Once on the phone, I’d probably just be straightforward, “Hey, I noticed that you are a top and are into domming, I have a fantasy I’d really like to experience one day, I’d love to be tied to...etc” and then just ask something like “Do you think you could help me?” That way you describe exactly what you want, and only ask 1 question, can we make this happen. There’s no back and forth, just a yes or no, if they are good they may suggest a few ideas of their own to enhance the scene
