This made me laugh because I did this exact thing. I was sure I was going to make a mint in New York City. There had to be an almost infinite amount of clients so how could I leave without a big fat bank account? Yeah, the problem is there are also an infinite amount of escorts. And although I have enough self-confidence to say I am decent looking, I am definitely not "New York-hot". There's always someone out there younger and hotter than you and in a place like New York City that list is really really long. I was there mostly on vacation (the escorting was just sort of a side thing I was doing since I was there anyway) and I had 1 client in 5 days. Taught me the lesson that the big city is not always better. That said, I was in in San Francisco once and only had 1 client and he ended up paying me WAY more than we agreed upon (when does that ever happen??) and it ended up basically covering my whole trip. So sometimes 1 client is all it takes.

I knew I was a relative newbie but I had no idea the level of experience out there. 10 years? 14 years? 19 years? That's absolutely amazing. I put up a RentMen ad in June of 2017 so it's coming up on a year and a half. It was slow going at first until someone gifted me my first Gold membership and then the phone started ringing. The extra time at the gym and 20 or so pounds of muscle I've added in that year and a half have helped out some also.

Hey guys, A little background: I've been escorting part time for about a year. I do it mostly in my home city but I also occasionally put up travel ads when I am going somewhere in the hopes I might get a client or two while I'm there. I've made all the rookie mistakes but I think now I am to the point where I'm pretty comfortable and I have that sixth sense about when a situation just "doesn't seem right." One thing I have never done however, is have someone fly me to another city specifically for a weekend of escorting. I'm open to doing it but how is the plane ticket normally handled? Obviously the client has to pay for it, but if he buys the ticket he's going to need my real name. I occasionally tell clients my real FIRST name if I'm comfortable with them and have seen them a few times but I don't think I've ever told anyone my real FIRST and LAST name, which of course they would need. There's always the "transfer-the-amount-of-the-plane-ticket-to-my-PayPal-and-I'll-buy-it-myself" option but that really seems like its asking a lot of a client, especially if they've never actually met you. So how do guys normally handle this? Follow up question: for local clients I don't normally ask for a deposit first, but for someone that is asking for a whole weekend of my time, where I have to make arrangements to be away (someone to watch my dog, etc.), I feel like it wouldn't be out of line to ask for a small down payment as proof they are not going to flake. Is that customary also?
