  1. I think @LaffingBear has hit the nail on the head, especially about the issues not being reported at the time they occurred. If you are serious about this, please heed the advice of seeking council. One question I have is... was there any severance provided? If so, you likely waived any rights to legal action. That said, in the case of age discrimination you have 7 days to revoke a signed severance. Based on the information provided, the one thing that most strikes me as odd is a performance based termination without any prior discussion. Most companies, especially large ones, will document performance issues in excruciating detail and put an employee on a performance improvement plan prior to termination. It's worth noting that in Nevada you have 60 days from termination to inspect your personnel file. Perhaps that is your first step.
  2. Once took a bath with a large amount vinegar in the tube. It was the worst sunburn of my life, and surprisingly, it helped tremendously!
  3. This thread made me think of this video. I laugh every time. Man or woman, there are just some people that shouldn't be allowed to drive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWZHfXP41TM
  4. And based on a 2014 study, despite numerous appeals, its likely that 20 to 30 of those were falsely convicted. http://www.pnas.org/content/111/20/7230
  5. Literally, if this thread goes on any longer I won't be able write another sentence at the end of the day. I clearly don't have the right skill set but it is what it is. Whatever. I guess going forward I'll have to find alternative words. With that said, it could be a win-win for everyone involved, just saying. If you have any ideas on how to avoid these words feel free to ping me and we can take it offline. #atalossforwords
  6. This!!! Countless articles about this phrase. I said it quite a bit early in my career and had a boss that corrected me every time. Now I cringe when people say it. https://www.google.com/#q=stop+saying+reach+out But for me, my least favorite word is "unacceptable." It's typically used by those who want to complain but have no solutions to offer. Usually they are left with no other choice but to accept the situation.
  7. I'm embarrassed to admit that I actually like Cincinnati Chili. Had it for the first time a few years ago. That said, Deadspin rates it behind being hit by a car.... "For the mercifully unacquainted, "Cincinnati chili," the worst regional foodstuff in America or anywhere else, is a horrifying diarrhea sludge (most commonly encountered in the guise of the "Skyline" brand) that Ohioans slop across plain spaghetti noodles and hot dogs as a way to make the rest of us feel grateful that our own shit-eating is (mostly) figurative." http://deadspin.com/the-great-american-menu-foods-of-the-states-ranked-an-1349137024
  8. Apparently they are not taking any deductions on their children, mortgage interest, property taxes, or charitable donations. They also must not have any investment income to be at an effective 40% tax rate (which, by the way would not be their tax bracket with the aforementioned deductions). So, @azdr0710 is correct. They need a new accountant. I get that NY is ridiculously expensive and that $500k does not take someone as far as many would think, but using fuzzy math only weakens their argument.
