  1. It’s being worked on by the programmers now. Should be fixed today. Some people are getting in, but it’s very slow.
  2. I’ll strongly disagree with you that there is a gang on the other site that tells Oz what to do. He is very much his own person and been around this business a long time.
  3. I’ve been in Bangkok for the last several months. Masks aren’t mandatory now but I’d say 3/4 of the Asian population wear masks. I only do in my condo building and public transportation. Most Westerners aren’t wearing them now.
  4. They used 4 pitchers . Great accomplishment, but not in Don Larson category.
  5. You could probably say the same for Mets fans right now.
  6. I’m in Bangkok now. The mask mandate is going to end mid June. Tourist have been returning, things picking up weekly. Entertainment venues should be opening next week.
  7. RadioRob when you leave Ft.Lauderdale will you take the cold weather with you.
  8. I also hope Ft.Lauderdale passes on it. Or passes on the costs to tourists instead of local tax payers. City Commissioners have been trying to get some sort of light rail but residents finally won out after years of back and forth. So now they are going to try to push this tunnel system that will only be used by tourists. Residents are already forming opposition groups. time will tell.
  9. I live in Ft. Lauderdale. Tourism is way down. No snowbirds. I haven’t seen a Canadian license plate in months. Same with cars from the Northeast. A few New Yorkers around. Beaches very quiet. Restaurants open but with limited capacity. There are mask issues but it seems to be an age thing. During daytime lots of mask wearing, but when sun goes down and younger crowd heads out for evening entertainment, masks seem to disappear. I stay pretty close to home so not up on what’s going on in the gay venues in the evening. I got the vaccine but I’m still avoiding crowds for awhile. Ive flown to Boston a couple of times and all my flights were full, so there are some people coming down.
  10. I got the Pfizer vaccine. My second shot is 21 days after the first.
  11. The governor in Florida is one of Trumps little bitches and he does what Trump tells. Trump wants Florida open.
  12. He isn’t even close to 39. He passed that a long time ago.
  13. As usual WilliamM, has nothing to do with this posting.
  14. I’ll contradict your experience a bit. I went to my Publix on the east coast of Florida. Way worse than last week. Most people were walking in and out with nothing. Never seen so many empty shelves. If you need potato chips you would fine.
  15. We might pass in the air. I’m returning next week on Cathay Pacific. They have changed my flights 3 times in the last two weeks. I now have to overnight in Hong Kong because only 1 flight a day between Bkk and HK. Hoping no more changes.
  16. I’m living in Bangkok right now and you’d barely know anything is going on without going online. Tourism is noticeably down. No big tour buses. Shopping malls full of locals just not tourist. not as many face masks as you would expect. Air pollution has been very bad recently. More masks for that. Online Apps full of working guys. Adult entertainment zones doing ok business on weekends, bit slower on weekdays. People are aware, but no signs of panic. I read about lots more nervousness in the US than I see here. I’m going to Vietnam next week for a few days, before coming back to Thailand . Friends there say they aren’t that concerned. But we are avoiding Hong Kong and China. They do quick temperature checks in the airports. So for now we are just living are normal day to day life.
  17. I’m headed to Hong Kong next weekend on my way to Bangkok and Hanoi. I’ll be there for a few months. I have friends there so we don’t go to big tourist areas frequented by Chinese tourist. I’ll be keeping a close eye on what’s going on. If it blows up in Thailand I’ll look to coming back to the US.
  18. I spend 6 months a year living in Bangkok. I watch it on the NBC app on my IPad. Because of the 12 hour time difference I usually binge the weeks episodes on Saturday or Sunday.
  19. There is no coach. All Business Class and Premium Economy. Buy a few months out and Business is as low as $3500 rt.
  20. My friend has tried to get me to try the Singapore flight and I’ve come close, but in the end I have a lot invested in OneWorld status also. I take Cathay now and use their Premium Economy service. If I use Qatar I’ll do Business.
  21. I have been lucky in the jet lag dept. I live in Bangkok half the year. I take midnight flights over and get to my condo about noon. Just go on with my day and go to bed about 9pm, sleep all night and fine next day. Coming back, I go either Cathay thru Hong Kong, or Qatar thru Doha. l leave about 9am and get home about 10pm. Just go to bed and have no issues next day. I know jet lag is an issue for a lot of people, but I also think some people obsess about it so much before trip it’s just worse than it needs to be. I used to fly to Bangkok about 6 times a year so got used to it. Now that I spend 6 months there, I only do it a couple of times a year. I came back last Thursday and the Hong Kong Boston leg was only 14 hours because of winds. Got in 1-1/2 hours early.
  22. I think some of it has to do with inconsistent flight loads. Many days half full and many days full. But does seem more seats are purchased closer to departure date. So they offer a few cheap fares early on. Also Bangkok has so much competition fares can be lower than most places in SE Asia.
  23. I have a friend in Boston that has taken this flight 3 times and a forth coming up next month. He connects to Bangkok. As @Benjamin_Nicholas mentioned this flight has been going since last fall. There is no regular economy , only Business and Premium Economy. Both classes come with a bit of enhanced service. If you book business class far enough out and a bit flexible with your dates, fare can be in the $3500 range. He likes Singapore as an airline but he likes their fares. I fly to Bangkok via Cathay Pacific but in the end we arrive about the same time.
  24. You don’t need to do visa on arrival anymore. You can do E visa online yourself. Govt sends it via email. You go straight thru immigration. I have a multi entry visa hard copy from Embassy as I go to Hanoi several times a year. The visa on arrival desks up until last year were very busy, but now very few people using that service.
  25. I really do have a Vietnamese BF. I am going through a little medical issue so couldn’t pick dates. Plus he can’t get a visa to come to the US . We live on Bangkok and spend time in Hanoi. Great airport to start your trips. I got about 20 phone calls from friends telling me about the fares. Most of my trips are on Cathay so would have been perfect.
