so you said no....... what is there to refund? your post makes no sense. Apologize for the confusion, when he first brought up the deposit, he told me if he cancels he will give me the full refund and if I cancel, he will keep 50 and refund the rest. Another example of luring me in, as it gave me a false understanding that he was acting in good faith. Yes, I missed the signs and I admit that I was fooled into thinking that he was going to be one of the good guys in the business.

Oh and for those of us in our 50's and older who don't have a partner, it is easy to let your guard down when you are being worked by someone who is very good at the long con game.

Appreciate the comments and believe me, it is a lesson learned on my end. I will say I am most disappointed in myself for not seeing the red flags soon enough. I must admit, he was very good at gaining my trust, as he was very focused on getting to know more about me outside of the typical sex experience, and that is where I believe led to my interest (and agreeing to a deposit), he was focused on me. Now I completely realize it was all an effort to lure me in. Lesson learned for me: always be skeptical of the other's intentions and motivations when engaging a new provider. At least I spared myself from what would have likely been a disappointing encounter.

Looking for advice on getting back a deposit from a provider who has since ghosted me, after saying he would reimburse me. Here is the situation I am in. I contacted an escort online through RM and also through his X page. He reaches out to me and we begin to converse and after a lengthy chat, he wanted to lock in an appointment and asked for a deposit. He also told me he would refund me, minus $50 if I decided to cancel. He continued to chat me up and then asked me for $500. It's now 3 weeks and the only resply from him was he needed more time to get me the the money he was going to pay back. All other messaages have been ignored. Do I have any recourse through Paypal, which is how I paid him in the first place? Or, will they just say there is nothing they can do? And yes, I know don't give a deposit to an escort that I've not met before...lesson learned.
